  3. Hi All, Wondering if anyone can assist with a problem that I have, My original piping began to soften and eventually leak so I decided it was time to upgrade the piping. Sent the Mrs down to BPT Motorsport while I was at work to get a stage 2 kit only to find that it was out of stock, for a little extra money we were offered a stage 3 kit, money is tight at the moment so we inquired if it would fit the standard cooler and were told yes, and that there are reducers included in the kit. Got home and went to fit it all up and it soon became apparent that there were no short pipes to connect the reducers to the rest of the kit. Following day BPT Motorsport said they'd make up the pipes for free (which I am incredibly grateful for) and went to fit it all together, every piece of piping fits in well, only problem now is that the bumper wont fit. Around the foglights its too wide and this is preventing the bar to fit properly, I've tried adjusting all pipes, pushing the alloy piping further into the silicone pieces, even tried cutting down the pipes that BPT made up for me, all to no avail. My question is, does anyone know if the stage 3 piping kit will work with a standard cooler, perhaps I am missing something? Or are there any tips or tricks to get it all to work? Many thanks in advance. Cheers, Marc

  8. Hi Guys, There is one airflow sensor before the elbow leading into the throttle body, I very gently cleaned it to avoid damaging it, I have not had it read for fault codes yet and it hasn't been tuned, previously it was an ex police car though I doubt that has anything to do with it, the problem started after I installed the CAI, it would only idle roughly when cold then it went away and now it prefers to stall but has perfect idling, I did try spraying some carby / throttle body cleaner around all the vac lines to see if it changed the RPMS noticeably but nothing changed at all, haven't tried the manifold gasket as yet, the idea never occurred to me. Average speed is gone as I reset the computer this morning, however the drive to work is a steady 70k's the whole way stopping at only a few lights, I coast gently to a red light until it turns green and then gently continue my drive to work, same for the drive back. Just reading more posts and noticed that other people are getting 15l/100k's so I am convinced that the fuel consumption isnt a problem, plugs are yet to be changed (80000k's on the clock currently) and all other service procedures have been carried out as per the manual. Cheers Marc
  9. Hi All, Was wandering if anyone can assist with a problem my FG is having. The problem is the car tends to stall, the idle is at a little over 500rpm and it idles quiet smoothly, however if I jab the throttle and let it go, the idle drops below 500 and will occasionally stall, not a problem in my driveway however when I drive on one particular hill and try to move up a little bit, the car will most times stall leaving me with no power on the hill, a little scary at times as the cars behind have no clue that I can't move! It also is quiet bad at slow speeds (Christmas light hunting) and in peak traffic and on a VERY rare occasion at idle the car hunts up and down as if it has a vac leak. Things I have tried that did not fix the problem. 1. Cleanout of throttle body and all intake piping. 2. Cleaning of MAF sensor 3. Removal of BOV and a few other BOV. 4. Inspection of ALL vac lines (no leaks evident) Another problem I am having (though im not sure if related) is high fuel usage even when taking it easy (currently sitting over 13l/100) and that's very conservative driving. Only mods thus far is a CAI (90 degree bend off the turbo, 3 inch pipe), Center muffler removal and aftermarket BOV. engine wise the rest of the car is stock. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated as I am wits end here!! Cheers Marc
  10. I noticed a little earlier on in the thread that this has been tried with an FG falcon, but the volume was very low, has anyone else with an FG tried this?? I am currently planning a stereo install on my FG but having read this now, I think this may be the way to go rather than fabricating a mount for an aftermarket deck! Would the FG stereo be a similar setup to the BA/BF?? Cheers Marc
  11. I had this happen in my pajero, which made it more difficult as the lens is diffused for the park light, but I did find that a little magnetic pick up tool (4 dollars from k-mart) allowed me to grab the metal contacts and after a few attempts, I managed to get it out no problems Hope this helps. 13. just searching ebay for car stuff (as usual) and stumbled upon this beauty of an ad, very funny ramblings etc. lol Link: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-Falcon-2008-FG-XT-Prince-Phenom-/250820377372?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item3a660f3b1c Cheers Marc
  14. I have the Uniden 015SX in my pajero, it is great as it has the remote head, I have the unit mounted under the dash and the display is screwed into the dash. It doesn't (in Perth) get any ambulance / fire / police channels (all digital AFAIK) but talking between car to car and listening to security services its great for, the rural police are still on the old analogue signal, though they will all eventually change over anyway. In terms of Antennas, I have 3 to choose from, one a 4db gain, other 6db and the last a 9db.. the higher the db rating the more narrow the signal, the lower the db rating the more round the signal is, higher db is great for flat terrain but on hilly terrain you'd be better with a 4db or 6db antenna. the 4db is only around 30cm tall but the 6db and 9db are over a meter in size. Just my 2 cents worth Cheers Marc
  15. I did notice this too, not too sure why it has a bit of a note to it, was previously an ex-cop car .. something they have done? though I do doubt that, this exhaust has 70000 k's on it .. perhaps the centre muffler was already dying? though I did find a clip with a similar sound on youtube, uploaded said his was stock too.. though no-one believed him lol Heres the vid. Cheers Marc
