How do u get speakers into this does the ICC have to be fully removed to get to to them so u can run the factory speaker wires down to the unit or are u piggy backing the headunit into the factory system?

Yeh the gauges look the goods, um the pod was 50 flat brand new last of the ones he had I know people lol it think they retail for 80 or somthing from SS. Its just a personal choice after all really, I didnt want to go the 3, was to much on the dash personally, im thinking of making a custom setup for more down below next to the power souce, colour coded for another 2 gauges.

Yeh in no way did I mean any bad words in regards to pole postions products, they are made from the best products, have been made pefect for the XR, I read the whole thread from the begining about the build up etc, but after saving for a while for the car I had other priorities other then that plus I think it looks a little busy as in to much to look at personally but until I see one in the flesh in a car its only my 2c that's why I decided to go the 2 gauge look both a personal choice mixed in with finacial in a way, as I said at uni tryin not to blow heaps on the car when its still only a vanity thing really afterall trying to concertrate on gettin it to where I want it performance wise. pole position definately top products they make just wasnt what I was after. sorry if the wrong msg has come across in no way was I bagging the product. thanks for the comments so far. I personally like the 3 gauge pod I know its top quality but for my purpose I couldnt justify the extra money I got this for a bargain price from a distrib of SS, that can be down the track if I end up goin the 3 way. im at uni me = poor so to speak lol I def like your products though phoon I wasnt saying urs arent worth it cause they certainly are, but personally for me I couldnt justify the extra dosh have other priorites for the car = need a flash an exhaust which is on the cards soon. I hope you make a 2 gauge down the track :D

Yeh the SS one have screw through the pod itself its a counter sunk right through, they sit at same level as the pod base but the covers sit proud of them, its getting painted soon when I get time off uni, I cant justify the extra money basically double for the same thing minus screws through the top, they come with covers basically looks all black anyways an each to there own. if the other options werent so expensive I would have considered but in my opionion not worth the extra money.

Hey guys picked up some Autometer cobalts an also a SS induction Gauge pod, was happy to keep with 2 an actually looks pretty good. I have some more coming which will be mounted in the tissue box area, oil press etc. Ok so after reading the big drama bout how the car can turn out to be useless if the ICC is broken on removal I set about finding another way around it. I have had a bit of experience with electrical work in cars an decided was a better option to find the way around this so I dont have to remove the ICC. end product looks fine, there was no cutting required at all under the gauge pod all wires an boost run fine with no probs. gauges are hooked up to lights etc on off so that not on all the time. I had to go to work the sarvo so didnt have much time to get an photos, so I took one in the car on the way home lol. If anyone is wanting to get some gauges installed but couldnt be daffed doin it or isnt confident in doing the work, send me a pm an we can organise somthing. I m between syd an newcastle. I know some other members up north do it, but no one down here does I believe heres a quick photo, I ll take more in the morning in some light. all came together really well. Sounds like fun, I spend a bit of time in syd, out the western suburbs an theres always a run on the great western at some point haha, geeze the bike would have been cut snake that he lost. yeh josh looks after me as does jason. O by the way I hooked up my gauges still got some more coming which will be mounted down low in the tissue box area. Oil pres etc. heres some pics I also found out the way of doin this with out removing the stereo so therefore no risk at all to it shatting itself on you an rendering it useless to you, so if anyone is interested in puttin in gauges but couldnt be bothered or arent confident in doing it. Sounds like the buisness then, I dunno if I should try grey cause its still a BA? does that group of wires go over to the under bonnet ecu thing on the passanger side of engine bay?

So I can just tap straight into that yeh mines a late BA 04 mod so itll be the grey wire off the exhaust, im obviously gonna follow it a little way from the hot exhaust lol. an then power an it ll be sweet.

Was up at autobarn gettin some stuff, IE gauges an stuff for oil change, an was talkin to a mate of mine josh didnt relise that DAT you are good mates with him to lol, he was givin me the run down on some things. can anyone give me a ecu pinout for the XR6T where do I go with the AF gauge, under bonnet ecu or behind dash one? cheers

Ok guys big update had a mate take it for a run an he said its spark related, I recommend this for anyone, if you still have factory fitted plugs, rip em out throw some new iridiums and regap to .9 I did it the smorning, pulled it all apart, new plugs with a regap put em back in, an found a tool which made the rear plug way easy to remove. vedict, out on the road holly crap goes fairly hard very impressed with it now, it has a typhoon cooler on it to now. Thanks for all the info guys you have been much help, now its time for the mods now that its sorted out. looking forward to catching. once again thanks for the heads up on the probs.

Hey guys the T was gone for 2 days had to get new rear rotors put on the car, the previous PBRs where on their last legs. So got some new DBA slotted monsters on the back, they are bloody hot looking brakes if I do say so myself. got an exhaust comin in the near future an aftermarket cooler aswell, an also now have a typhoon cooler on the car seems to do the trick until I get the bigger cooler. will have nice dark tint on it the next day or 2 just been flat out at uni this week, very busy last year for me. this weather is quite the traction light has come on a bit last day an half. wouldnt waste my time in racing the quattro audi dude they run a 16sec quater stock as not quick at all they are a cruiser not a quick car. O an how bad are the cops around newcastle now holy crap so gay.

So I can leave the red tappet cover on when doin this, have you got the tool to do this dat? just doin little things to it atm I just got new DBA slotted rears to replace my rear PBRs put on today they were on there way, just tryin to get everything in order an now I want this slight miss under boost fixed lol. let me know.

Sweet as golf sounds like a plan, was wondering if I can get a heads up on plug change on these cars, seems as though the holes that the spark plugs go in are fairly small, compared to the skyline I used to own, seems like a normal spark plug ratchet setup wont work that well, so wat do you guys use, I really want to get this miss sorted out. just had to get new DBA slotted rotors for the back as the optioned up slotted PBRs were on there last legs. so any help with the plug situation would be sweet. cheers

Hey guys bit of an update on it, I have had 2 diff performance guys look at it an go for a run with me, an they have both said break down in spark somewhere, feels like its missing that was another thought I had an I probly wrote it off early because its not loud but when I think bout how my skyline did it it would be the same if I put an exhaust on it I d be able to hear it more. if the plugs dont fix it, fuel filter an then next is taking off the exhaust, it sort of has moments of brilliance lol, should be all good, at least im gettin plenty of avenues to work with, thanks very much. Im gonna get some plugs for it early next week what do you guys use in your cars other then the factory ones, also should I only regap to .9 or go to .8 or will that be to much...... I was thinking NGK plugs maybe. thoughts please. also with a stuffed cat does the engine note change, basically the 2 diff guys I went to said its missing as boost comes but its on off sort of as the spark reachs an then doesnt aka blowing out spark.

Yeah that's also a good point, I guess that would make it ping aka the ECU can detect an retard although if I feed it gradual it doesnt do wat it does when I stomp on it. ive done the solenoid fix took five min's to do. an will no how it goes when I go out tonight, thanks for all the options sofar guys, id like to see it being the exhaust ie new system haha.

Yeh im gonna try the solenoid now, what else would be likely to do somethin like this I really want to see this car back to standard before I start to work it. Just seems the symptons are really pointing towards a boost related issue, id have to have the exhaust off it to find out whether its been decated. it has a bit of a deeper note my mate was say when gave it a bit up the street. an it has a note when I start it, I dunno if they have any note from factory as I havent ever been in a stock one only modded. So has anyone heard of any of these sort of things happening, like wastegates failing etc or the likes. very keen to sort it out. thanks for the offer on the solenoid im in sydney, id pay for postage on it an maybe a little bit of cash if you no longer needed, ill see how it goes with my current one after a clean.

Hello everyone this is my first post on here an it is rather long, I have recently purchased a XR6 turbo 2004 model, with bigger brakes etc totally stock mod wise though. I have a problem an have done a lot of reading in the last couple of days bout boost control an factory ECU an also the small missfire some falcons get from time to time an have been trying to find some info that may help me out an make my car go like it should. Ok first thing its just out of factory warranty by a month so continually takin it to ford is gonna take some money for them to keep guessing :( o well enough of the feeling sorry for myself, today I took it back into ford to get them to try an figure out the problem, 2 different mechs took it for a run with me in the car, an it is definately down on power an seems restricted like its choking or retarding in some way. So the only symptons its got that I can really seem to tell is it has a really slight miss feels like its running on 5 on idle an secondly when you stomp the thottle it gets to just on 3000rpm an its starts to flucuate like miss aswell like itll still rev out in but no where near as quick as I believe it should might be loosing spark maybe??? thoughts please?? just feels very restiricted like the ecu maybe retarding reving a lot harder but not really goin anywhere when turbo kicks in. But if I feed the throttle in doesnt seem to have any issue all the way to redline. My previous experience has been with skylines an WRXs an they didnt have the restrictions on the ECU like the I believe the XR6T does, ive heard if 1 or 2psi would send it retarding is this correct. Ok so my thoughts are that its turbo related in some way is this correct in thinking this as it only seems to affect it when on boost... as the turbo comes on stock from 2500-3000 an im guessin full boost around the 3000rpm mark. can someone please verify this for me. Would putting a boost gauge in the car give me an idea of whats happening. The car blows no smoke, so I doubt its turbo failure as it still spins very freely. Does this sound like a weak or stuffed Wastegate actuator or spring or diaphram, maybe its not controlled properly an when I stomp it spikes an is picked up by the ECU an sends in to semi retarded to protect it so that its not runnin aswell as it should but I assume. Could it be a sticky wastegate spring? Ford gave me a few little speals about stuff an basically the mech an I had to come to the idea its turbo related so I figure either wastegate, solenoid or the last option a clogged or stuffed cat/exhaust sys = to much back pressure which might be limiting the wastegate opening properly. Car has only got 75k on the clock which to me might rule that out anyone experienced this. Its an Auto, Today it also had a throttle body clean, new airfilter, manifold tightening an also a KAM BUSS CLEAN THROTTLE (what is this to with..... VCT) also errors were checked no hard codes came up on the reader also as a side note. Ok so im at the stage where I dont want to pay ford to keep exploring an takin my hard earned with no definate answer. So im asking if anyone has any ideas about what might be causing this to happen, I really am looking forward to owning one of these beast of cars an im just hoping someone has experienced this an can give me some ideas Im flushin out the solenoid the sarvo, waiting for it to cool down now lol. so what other things can people suggest I do, would a plug change an regap help sort this as it has the slightess miss on idle sometimes aswell.
