Hey guys Wondering if people could help me out here. I got a ba 4spd auto. few weeks ago I posted about some issues ive been having with my gearbox as of late. Yesterday it left me stranded and waiting for a tow truck. Basically I left my mates house. 5 mins later he sent me a msg sayin there was tran oil on driveway, on way home car suddenly starting free revving like it was in neutral not in drive. Later when it cooled down it went into drive fine, so it seems its only when its hot. I still got it towed home as not knowing what it was, I didnt want to drive it home incase I did further damage. We just checked oil levels and apart from small amount that was lost yesterday, it seems to be quite full. What do u think? We thought maybe torque converter at first but then dont think it would go back into drive again at all if that was screwed? Anything else it could be? Really need some help guys as I need to get it fixed asap so I can get to work and cant borrow a car for too longer period. Cheers

and its blue or white depending on your car, if its white, it should be connected to a blue one anyone so just look for the blue 4 pin plug
-
now that you mention it ive kinda only noticed it when the oil is warm, no track work just half hour drive to work.. I hope its not the same thing I dont wanna be up for a new box
-
was thinking about that after I posted think its due for a change... Got it done by a mechanic mate last time, ill do it myself this time but how do I do it exactly?
-
Hey guys Lately ive been noticing some problems with the box in my ba xr6t. Its just the 4spd auto and ive been noticing its taking some time to change gears, if I go from neutral to reverse, it takes about 5 seconds before it actually clicks into reverse. Also in tiptronic when going down gears it isnt always going from 2nd down to first or takes 5-7 seconds after I shift it than it will jump down Is my box on the way out or could it just be an electrics problem maybe the selonoid? Cheers Guys

not sure what you mean by AUX plug mate what are you trying to do? The plug is behind the fuse panel where u tap into for power earth and acc but to get sound your going to need to rewire speakers behind kick panels or buy a ford aux booster and run an aux cable from that into the head unit which wont provide as good sound quality as rewiring the speakers
-
aftermarket head unit is well worth the money and effort sound quality and choices you have are much better

Hey guys how are we doin? I have been thinking about this for a long time now and decided to do a little digging into it. I have some questions about driving the big dump trucks in the mines. Firstly I guess, are they fairly easy to drive for the average person? What gearbox are they? I heard automatic with just forward/reverse? Whats the best place/way to go about getting into doing this? I guess my main problem is ive wanted to do it for quite a while now but at the moment I work in a bowling club after spending years on the roads, and I guess im a bit worried about stepping out of my comfort zone and not being able to drive them after im given the chance, I love to work, I love putting in the hours, just whether I can actually perform the job has me a little worried any information would be greatly appreciated cheers

if it was me, id buy an awesome head unit for $350 rather than 500 on the rockford fosgate 360 but that's just my opinion, lot better and more options with a head unit. The price of cheap head units these days I wouldnt even bother with line converters and such

yeh looking forward to it, like I said never had a dog before so really looking forward to having a great companion
-
Hey guys Well im pretty excited, I bought a little puppy today, and since ive never had a dog im pretty stoked so I thought id post some pics She is only 4 weeks old on tuesday so I wasnt able to bring her home yet, not for a few weeks and havnt thought of a name yet but loved her soon as I held her
-
that would be alright buddy, but what sorta price are you looking at for the stuff needed to do it?
-
as it turns out what r they part staffy or part german sheppherd?
-
I put that idea forward for the staff room but got knocked back
-
no good we have texas holdem on a friday night and they cant do it on a sat night any more ideas?
-
its maitland city bowling club over at rutheford we have trivia every wed and its not a big excitment for ppl and that's their idea to bring it in on saturdays too and unfortunately myself and some other staff believe its going to be a failure :(

Hey guys Heres the deal, I work in a small bowling club in my area. We arent exactly small but the numbers we pull in isnt great, mainly all the older regulars, bowlers etc. Lately we have been getting a lot of teenagers in which is good (especially the ladies) friday nights we are really packed but saturday nights is just miserable. Been trying to think of some ways we could pull in numbers on a sat night. We have the 2nd biggest function room in the hunter valley but it is pretty much going to waste. So thought we could have a little brainstorm so to speak lol any ideas on how to bring in a crowd on say a sat night, even a once a fortnight or once a month thing. Remembering mostly old ppl go to club all week so we dont wanna do something that's going to drive them away either like a club inside which we used to have cheers guys

-

oh that I can help ya with champ I made a tutorial the first time I did my stereo install http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44426 pics and tutorial are there, im using the same head deck and mounting idea now so pretty much exactly the same
-
Hey guys well ive been working slowely this week with my new stereo install as I got sick of my crappy sounding stereo since I took it back to stock from my previous install. I have been working every night so only been doing a little bit per day which has been annoying but I finally finished the stereo today so im pretty happy which means I thought id post lol Ill be doing a proper boot install soon and ill post pics when that happens. My system consists of: JVC KD-DV5306 DVD Head Unit Sony Xplod XS-GTX1640 Coaxial 6" speakers Sony Xplod 600w XM-ZR604 Amp Sony Kicker CompVR 07CVR124 12-Inch 4-Ohm DVC Sub This is all running of the head unit now which meant rewiring the speakers to the dvd unit instead of the ICC. This is a much better way of running your stereo as the ICC just doesnt punch out enough power to produce a good quality sound. Ill post pics when I find my camera but not much to see really until I start my boot install. Places like JB Hi Fi charge quite a lot of money to install a head unit into the BA/BF models so anybody around newcastle/central coast area looking to get this done and doesnt feel confident in doing it themselves shoot me a msg as Ive done 4 cars like this now and am willing to do it for a cheaper price then JB or other car audio stores.
