I think my wreck is gunna go for around 5k, drop the hopefully, still healthy motor in the wagon, and you've got a fast (moderately) weird looking Falcon, who would'a thought!!

well, 1st day report, the little thing IS a weapon, 1st and 2nd gear are virtually useless, wheelspin all the way, but once in 3rd, hang on and grin BIG!!! amazing what a 2.3ltr is capable of, and the handling, I've always said going fast round corners is much better than in a straight line, and in this area the MPS really shines, its point and shoot material...... no mods planned at this stage Mika, but time will tell, currently the only options involve splicing into the wiring, not ideal on a brand newie, but all in good time....there is a heap of go-fast gear available from america, they love their mazdaspeed3's over there, so options are open for me whenever I choose.... 300k's Tab, doing the treat it nice thing till I get to 1000, although I did buzz redline in 1st today, it revs so damn quick, dont think I'll baby it though, want a screamer when she's run in.... and yes Scribr, she has DSC, it was a definate when buying after what happened to my T

keep up?? its only torque limited in 1st and 2nd, from then on, you've got no hope....hahaha, and I aint even thrashed it yet!!!!

its alright Flukey, 10909 posts, and he's scared his standard T is gunna get rounded up by a 2.3ltr Mazda.....he has issues with his confidence, I'll go easy on him

from research, I think this has been repaired on most thru a recall, being brand new, it shouldnt be an issue if this is the case

As the title suggests, I've had to find a replacement for my T, as the insurance has paid out, and the rental hyundai getz has got to go back..... I looked at another Falcon, but was already sick of the fuel bills a big car encourages, I've travelled 30,000k's since February, so was already considering a hot hatch before the accident, obviously was looking mainly at a Focus XR5, then had a browse over the new Mondeo, thought about a Golf GTi, but settled on a Mazda3 MPS!!!! Main reason for the choice, in all honesty, price, the deal I was offered for a MPS with Sports Pack (leather seats, auto-levelling xenon lights, 7 speaker BOSE stereo etc) plus optioned the Protection Pack (teflon paint coating, tinted windows etc) was less on road than a standard focus sans leather.... The test drive opened my eyes, the little bugger accelerates harder than my mildly modded T, any front driver that manages a 14.2 quarter must hustle.....another good point is it also STOPS AND CORNERS, something the T didnt do so well, yeah it torque steers like a bitch, its trying to drive and steer with the same wheels, all that crap, bottom line is, point to point, its a weapon....and only averages 10l/100k's!! So, I've settled for something I said I wouldnt, but still think I'll be a happy camper..... I'll still be round here though, the cruises are gunna be much more fun now dont be too harsh, Ford owns part of Mazda......

still not sure mate, I haven't really been too fussed with replacement yet, but have a fair idea on what I want, although, I have had thoughts of a *cough* VW GTi 3 door *cough* its gunna be hard to buy anything other than a Ford but.....

the getz is a loaner....whats your excuse????

yeah senna, I fully intend to sit my arse in all of my options before buying, just wanna spend a little time looking for my testicles, dont know where they went?? as you know the focus option was playing on my mind before the accident, even had a really nice trade-in price organized, but now will have to start from scratch..... does the mondeo voice thingy have a "dont hit post" command?? would be handy I think!!

will decide all in good time, but, yes, the mondeo is an option, as is a focus, falcon and territory...... when the time comes, I'll do my usual and dive in head 1st (no offence Bill)

its gunna take more than an accident to stop me from loitering around here, besides, at this stage the replacement WILL be a Ford, WILL have forced induction, and WILL have plenty of safety features, just got to decide how many cylinders, and what size vehicle will suit!!!!
