IT certainly makes the choice so much harder when dealers such as knoxford have new (not demos) ba turbo utes $32490 plus orc/dealers fees and xr8 utes $34990 orc/dealers fees.

I also have expressed my interest for the overnight test drive....(jefferson ford) the salesman rang me to confirm which spec model territory I was interested in and preceded to book me in for a supervised drive (wtf) I mentioned that ford is offering o/night drives, his reply was " better speak to my sales manager as this is the first I've heard of this". anyway I have been booked in for the o/night drive on 17th may.... ... :roll: :roll:

I'd seriously look at the new Expensive Daewoo vectra. plenty of standard features, good finish, sedan and hatch with plenty of room available driveaway for under 30k for the 4cyl under 35k for the v6. I've just purchased one for my wife

Increased line pressures alone are not going to improve the strength of the box, just improve it's ability to cope with the increased power levels. From what I have been told, the FPV-GT Auto has a number of modifications over the standard XR8 auto to strengthen the BOX. This is the reason why the auto wasn't available for a few months after the GT was firsted released, as FPV were killing autos. I think you find that they both run the same modified auto's..

I would have to disagree and say that there would be a market for the Typhoon, simply because of how many people want to get more power, but are scared of making mods because of warranty issues. No such worries if one gets the extra power by buying a Typhoon. also there is a chance that the typhoon will have a stronger 6speed box which will wet the appetite for the performance buyers and existing 6t owners to upgrade..
