Canberra Dragway
Wondering if anyone has heard a thing about a drag track for Canberra (Wakefield??). Such a bummer the 1/8th mile is sitting, rotting away. I had a great old time there in my rotaries back in the day.

Blown Holden Vs Boosted Xr
Forgot about this. Adam and I placed our cars on the same dyno, same day. He got 384rwkw to my 365rwkw. Totally different power, totally different cars. Myn is quite sedate, almost stock look / sound. His is a bloody animal (but so, so awesome). At least myn backed it up 3 runs straight ( )

Best Exhaust For Bf Xr6T?
Mate I have the twin X Force 2.5" with 3.5" split dump. 365rwkw, no drone at all, and really mean that, nothing. Could get probably another 15rwkw with single X Force but after warm up it is almost (sort of) standard sounding, just deeper. If your not worried about noise single is the go (I have kids in myn). X Force for the $$$ is a great buy IMO.

Typhoon Internal Limits
I have that exact model, 362rwkw, no issues, great to drive. However that is as far as I am going without doing a rebuild for reliability long term.

Into The 300+ Club
Just did X Force 3.5 split dump and twin 2.5" to rear with large (quiet) mufflers. 362rwkw and no DRONE!

Blown Holden Vs Boosted Xr
Gentech site sponsor. I had an operation recently and in short have had too much time to sit around and think...... I still remember the cover of Motor Mag years ago and reading about a 4lt T and thinking, f*(king awesome! Only took me about 8 years to get to this point.

Blown Holden Vs Boosted Xr
Yeah his is manual and myn is auto. Not worried at all about whose is quicker. I was really wondering what the difference in driveability would be. Both cars are very different however as stated will probably end with similar rwkw. I also wonder what issues (if any) the LS1 folk have with their engines, boxes, clutches, driveline etc. Regardless the main factor is one is a Expensive Daewoo and the other a Ford so it makes for a good laugh. Its a Harrop HTV1900 blower.

Blown Holden Vs Boosted Xr
I agree cash does really dictate most results, however in the case of our cars they are both standard engines. Basically Nizpro stage 2, X force 3 1/2 dump, twin 2.5inch to rear, flap, turbine mod, actuator, pump. BF MK11. I like both cars, just very different ways to enhance over standard power.

Blown Holden Vs Boosted Xr
So my car should be back this week with a fair bit of work done (I am very excited). My friend is about to attend the same shop with his Monaro for a blower kit. It got me thinking, how will the cars compare? Reliability, driveability etc etc. I am sure a few of you guys have friends with similar builds. I cant wait to hear it, nothing beats the sound of a blower. (His is an Ls1, cam and blower, headers to tip all upgraded).

Ex Police Chasers .....Are They Tuned Up?
None of the Police HWP vehicles are tuned up. The new XR6T's have a brembo brake package, that is it. Each new model has to undergo extensive crash and stability testing with all the kit and 9 times out of 10 it is the brakes that fail. Only mods done on the BF's were capacitor for all the electrics and Ultimate Bendix pads. There is no chip, boost, box, suspension etc mods done. Fords run Dunlops, Holdens run Potenza. Holdens did get optioned with the FE2 suspension, that is IT! All cars are flogged, bounced over stuff, driven and braked hard, only way job can be done, however every car is serviced and repaired VERY well as you have to trust your life in what is essentially a family car with flashing lights. Just imagine a coroners inquest explaining why such and such was boosted up, over powered etc, contributing to a loss etc. Not going to happen, never has.

How Rudd Blows Your Billions
Teflon has done well so far; - Junkie handout - School stimulus (of which schools don't even get to select what gets upgraded) - Insulation - Green home loans (10K interest free, got home assessed but no bank was supporting the loan 8 months before it was also shelved) - Now magic 40% mine tax They all suck, but Teflon and the blood nut suck most.

Yokohama A Drive R1
Went to tyre shop for KU36's on rear, stuffed order and needed tyres so grabbed a couple of Yokohama A Drive R1's. I still need two more tyres (shortly) and am thinking of just getting 2 more of these however car is in next week for a fair bit of work (330rwkw ballpark). I am often called into work and Canberra is cold and can be wet so grip in wet conditions would be my number 1 goal. Any feedback would be appreciated if people believe something else may be better. Cheers Dave

Horror Fpv Buying Experience
In this day and age you just don't know who your dealing with. I am sure the dealerships get all sorts coming in wanting to flog cars, however, if they want to market and sell these vehicles then it has to be expected. Customer service is really all they have to fall back on, or was there a sudden new car boom that I missed? My local dealer was awesome to me, I bought my first and second car there, father and sister in laws cars and even best mate from Sydney. I will go back there when the family Nissan wagon is ready to be upgraded.

Purchasing An Ex Police Chaser
You will be right. They all get driven HARD and are suprisingly good at mounting gutters / median strips when the need requires. Best not to ask I say, if anything the fact it's an F6 probably didn't help too much as anything new was always a novelty.

Hawk Brake Pads
Ferodo DS2500, DBA 5000 series rotors. Used these on my track WRX and was a great set up on budget.

XR6 Turbo Insurance: Premiums, Insurers & Advice
Went to all Ford Day and spoke to Shannons rep for quote. Have a BF MKII XR6T in Canberra have always (and for yrs) been with AAMI. Got quote through $156 less a yr than AAMI and written quote through to cover future mods (basically Nizpro stage II kit) for $140 a yr more. Quote lasts 12 months, pay by month no extra cost, excess $500, windscreen free. Changed Xtrail over as well and saved nearly $200. Very happy. Live in ACT, probably worst postcode too.
