  1. Happy Birthday sixfan!

  2. sitting behind some retarded bimbo who can't get bloody car close enough to the ticket machine / hungry-jacks / drive in booth (yeah, I'm OLD) window and instead of just getting out goes back and forth, back and forth never managing to get 1 angstrom closer than she was originally.... And sorry to the lady members, though I suspect if your in here you A) arent a bimbo and B) can get close enough to a window just fine.
  3. OK I bought a Fairmont Ghia with a barra 220, still wont keep up, but wont be totally shamed.....
  4. AAANd theres a good thread completely hijaked by a fossilized member and associates...sorry... seriously though, the daimlers up the creek..AGAIN!! .we can bring a subi sti something-or other 1 of 500 along bizo..liberty? yeah I think it's one o them.... ...(missuses car) It'll keep-up though turbo AWD.
  5. So...I've been away for a while....and ...well...is Jet still here?
  6. Actually, what I'm doing at the moment is a short wheel base series 2 jag, I got 3 of em for $1200 and I only bought them for the seats in the swb... Options are pretty open here, keep the 4,2 six and put it all back to standard, ya get IRS disk brakes, climate air, elec windows or lump it... generally people put in some variant of the 350 chev....been done heaps of times and for me..well...Yawn.... Now, What I'm thinking would be good is a nice barra t motor with auto, strip it and it'd make an OK track day car, that I wouldn't get terribly upset about planting into a wall... Jags are actually good project cars atm...they're cheaper than 70's fords / holdens atm and parts are readily available and surprisingly cheap.
  7. yeap.mine looked good pretty much the day I bought it, mitsubishi use VERY poor paint, so a grasshopper hitting the bonned would peel the paint. I very nearly bought a black XRJ a month ago...I never learn. Yup still around and it's good to see there are still a few faces from wayback.. If I say please, would you move me outa inactive? I'd like to parouse the classifieds...looking for an engine and box for a little project I'm considering...
  8. where's the swearing emoticon gone? well yes, you are correct, about as much sense as owning a car in Brisbane... I got a quintrex topender 4.45m with a yammy 50 outboard for sale if you need to get to work. 130 is the magic number now.....though the main reason I sold the EVO was that it was black... OK it was the only one they had in stock, but seriously, what kind of idiot buys a black car if there's a choice?
  9. that's true, havent been there for a while, but what are the roads like atm? We've had a fair bit of rain, I could bring the 100 series...but eww that just isnt an appropriate car for a cruise....lol the daimler would be good, but It's only just back on the road...I'm yet to completely trust it....
  10. 5 bloody years I'm away....and your STILL posting in here....havent you got a livingroom to bailout or something? and yes, it's sold gone and nearly forgotten....
  11. Oh dude...lol, welcome to Darwin xr6turbo.com, looks like membership of 1.5, you and half me...seeing as how the xr6 is like 3 cars in my past now... um..is it a xr6t only cruise? Cause I don't own anything that would keep up anymore.....
  12. re the mining tax: Aussie miners , engineers and geologists have a very high reputation in the world, they draw top salaries both at home and overseas . The "foreign" companies pay their salaries in Australia....PAYG and GST from their salaries goes into the government coffers and the flow-on effect of this money is felt in many regional centres throughout Australia. The new tax will simply encourage mining companies to move to areas with equal sovereign risk, like the USSR or the Philippines, where the governments are also partial to changing the rules to get "their cut" of the profits. Australia will loose from this, technical expertise will leave the country to follow the work and Kevvie will have to look elsewhere to cover the shortfall and it may affect YOU directly next time.....Won't be me, I'll be off working in Vanuatu or similar and Kevvie won't be able to get MY money anymore. Here's to Kevie, He ain't blue he's a commie though and through wanted to be popular, but went the other way can't F'n wait for election day.......
  13. Cause they can't download your GPS and fine you for a speeding offence These ones they eventually will.
  14. She could get a job as a medical pathologist: Bactereology or biochemistry in pathology lab, but the pay is pretty lame. (I worked in a path lab in Canberra before I went to Uni) Biochemists were all geeks who spent thier time looking after a big machine.. Haematologists were slightly less odd, though a tad vampiric Histologists spent thier time staring down microscopes at pap smears and were mostly old women... Bacteriologists were the best, they played with poo and swabs from every bodily oriface, they had the best sense of humor...

lol, Jen wants to sell it and go back to the Merc, hence the shed-shuffle.
  17. as the song goes, "all Australian Boys need a shed..." What's yours like, neat? the aftermath of a cyclone? How do you keep the missus out? Do you have a TV in there for the footy / sunday speed machine.. or even better a bar fridge and sofa? I'll come clean (so to speak) here's mine, a dumping ground of all thinhs SWMBO refuses to throw out....(a worse packrat than me it seems!) and of tools that are stored where I drop them just after I've finnished using them.....
  18. Latest news on the daimler, fuel tanks drained cleaned and filled back up, new fuel filter fitted TPS adjusted butterflies sycronized and master cylinder / brake booster replaced: I pulled if from a spare Jag I've gone lying around, the sandblast and coat of paint cost me a carton of mids.... now runs very well, 7000rpm no problems brakes are all OK (handbrake needs some adjusting) but it's essentially ready for rego. Once that is done, I'll be starting on a new project......
  19. two weeks ago a mate of mine didn't spot an unmarked car, that is, until he hit it.
  20. If'n it's on my week off, I just might come along. P.S I've seen both of you around, but I was probably in "steath" mode in my landcruiser, theres ~ 100million of them on the roads up here.....
  21. and here's me (for now)car is going up for sale.
  22. When's the next streetcar meet at hidden valley? I need to take the EVO out for a flog....
  23. The one I like is :"Oh but look! My car has more damage than yours!" so what! My car had no damage till you hit it you stupid bint.
