Do you like my chances. ???? I wouldnt take that approach.I would say "im after a touch up paint, ive got the part number, its: M7 blah blah"and while he is punching the part number up on his computer, just say "I was quoted X amount for that part, does that sound about right?"If he says "who quoted you that price?"you can say "Another Ford dealership in the ACT. This is the recommended retail price I was quoted"Never go in saying "I want this part, and I want it at this price"Trust me! I hate people doing that! :banghead: Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/9783-touch-up-paint/page/3/#findComment-104295 Share on other sites

That's right I hate that!Unfortunately recommended retail price is just that, recommended, they can charge more if they want to. And unless there's another Ford dealer 2 minutes away your better off just paying the extra compared to what it's going to cost you to go and get it somewhere else. Where I live I am paying over retail, by quite a bit for my Meguiars products, it's either that or spend $30 on fuel and 3 hours of my time driving to Melbourne trying to save the money I just spent getting there. Sometimes it's just easier to pay a bit more. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/9783-touch-up-paint/page/3/#findComment-104346 Share on other sites

I had no intention of approaching the situation the way it sounded when I responded earlier. The way you explained was pretty much the way I was going to do it. I do appreciate you looking up the part number though as it will help when purchasing, and sound like I knew what I was on about.CheersClay Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/9783-touch-up-paint/page/3/#findComment-104424 Share on other sites
