Hey team, just bought a BA XR6T sedan and wanting to slap some new shoes on it. What would be the ideal rim/tyre size on it? Not the best with rim sizes but was looking at some VS2 rims with an 18”x9.5 +35 - not sure how these will fit front and rear. Still haven’t lowered it but ideally don’t want rubbing 😂

cheers

Stock rims are 17x8+36.5 (same with 18's if you have 'em)... you won't fit 9.5's on the front of a B-series without rubbing and you'll need to roll and pump the guards unless you're at 4wd height even if you manage to get an offset that'll clear the suspension upright, which a 9.5+35 won't even come close to clearing it (there's about 9mm of clearance, that change will be 17.6mm closer to the strut haha... it'll also poke out 20.6mm and there's about 15mm to the front guard inner lip)... so if you get them in the right offset to clear the front (around +26 you'd be around 0.5mm from the strut haha) you'd be poking out a mile (29.6mm) and you'd struggle to clear the front guard without doing significant guard work at stock height and panel-beating style guard work at lowered height.

On the rear just some guard rolling will get the job done (unless at 4wd height) as there's around 15mm gap to the inner guard lip and 30mm gap on the inside (as per the above poke & suspension clearance for 9.5 +35)

hint, I used this site to get that specific data for your setup -> https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=235&aspect=45&diameter=17&wheelwidth=8&offset=36.5&width2=245&aspect2=35&wheel_size=18&wheel_width=9.5&offset2=35

Cheers for that mate, a little more sense has been made. Not 100% sure but going off this info (rough estimate) a 18x8.5 +35 will work fine front and rear? Want to avoid guard rolling so what would be the ideal specs for an 18” wheel. (Currently have a 235/45/R17 on the car)

Rolling is fine, pumping is usually what people don't like doing haha. Rolling is just bending the inside lip up to clearance the wheel inside the guard outer line... pumping moves the fully-rolled-lip and the rest of the guard "out" in a pumping fashion, e.g. reshaping the entirety of the guard/lip shape.

But if you want to avoid rolling you have to clear the stock inside lips on full suspension travel (without the shock/spring in there at the time, jacked up).

The width of the wheel and offset is what matters more than the actual size of the wheel (until you get to 20's or bigger, then you have other requirements). 18x8.5 +35 will fit on both front and back as you're well within limits (4.8mm closer to suspension strut, 7.8mm poke out more). If you go low you might need to roll the front guards anyway based on the "no shock/spring and fully jacked up")
