Hi guys,

Thought some of you may be interested, a nice 7 page article on the FPV F6 Typhoon in the latest issue of MOTOR (out today). Great pics and the usual Morley wit, but not a lot more info than we've already heard on the forum.

Also for the GT fans, it's the PCOTY issue and there's a GT Falc in the lineup. Can't tell you who won though 'cause I haven't read it and don't want to spoil the surprise!

mmmm . . . a nice read in store tonight!

Thought it was a good read and very light on detail. No further info on gearboxes - just speculation of the 6 speed auto/manuals.

The article stated that the airbox is a "2-Way" intake which reduces the intake pressure by 40%. From the photo it looks the same as the XR6 airbox and has the same snorkel as the XR6T from the side of the airbox curved up to the top of the radiator. I'm guessing that FPV have added an XR8/GT type cold air duct below the passenger side headlight. (I did this mod for $60 based on '56 Mainline's posts from last year.)

Can't understand why FPV put the T5 gearbox in the show car, hope like hell they go Tremec or the rumoured 6 speed for the production model, the T5 really sucks!!!

Other than that the price was interesting 56k - 59k. Although the market they are aiming at by sounds of the article is the Euro-heads, for the money, personally I'll stick the the 8 pot FPV. :smilielol:

The T5 was only in it to fill the hole. The production car will have something different I would think.

don't bet on it.

just read the fpv blueprint mag and there was no mention of any new transmissions.

the way it was written up they would have mentioned any other new items after saying about new valve springs, con rods, air box and intercooler.

Or maybe they didn't comment on the tranny because they don't know what they're going to use yet. I was told by a Ford guy at the motor show that the T5 was just in that car and the final production decision hadn't been made yet. When I pushed him further he said that he couldn't discuss future developments.

Yeah, good story on the F6 but geez, didn't the GT get a bagging in the PCOTY? Mind you it deserved it because the testers have only stated what we already know about the poor engine torque of the 5.4 and the poor chassis set-up of the BA. Well, it's poor compared to the AU which was it's immediate predecessor and which by rights it should have improved upon.

The clubbie got a well deserved rap.

Wish I had a spare 400k for the Lambo ....

Well I know that the BA certainly handles better than a AU!

I'm a bit perplexed by that remark too. :banghead:

The BA T is idiot proof in IMHO, compared to a 200SX I used to have (last century) which was an utter handful in slippery conditions and very tail happy with much less power.
