Ill be running 98 and have no interest in e85. Im wondering what pump will do it in my bf ute. Ive searched but cant seem to find definate answers. When will 255 max out? Maybe have to go 300 or 460 pump? Seems the 460 would be overkill?

walbro 255 is fine for that power level. it won't go much over that on 98. surge tank is recommended if you want to give it a flogging at that power level with low fuel level

thought only the sedans had the issue with fuel starvation with low fuel?

no need for an in-tank pump that just flows better than the stock one with the same voltages/plug to be wired to a relay to activate it.

Of course it flows more than stock; significantly so. But it does it in the same position as the stock one with no modification other than it being a good idea to secure the hoses better within the in-tank module.

stock reg/rail is fine to a reasonably high power level and is quite safe at <400rwkW

which fuel pump is the "300" that you are referring to?

I'm specifically referring to a Walbro GSS341 for the "255" you were talking about all of this time as it flows 255 L/hr.
