Got a vacuum gauge on the turbo , can someone explain to me the purpose and how to read it correctly google isnt much help  cheers

do you mean a boost gauge? 

 

are you trying to test the wastegate actuator?

 

for some reason, what you said makes me think of my vacuum carburettor balancer that you use on a motorbike to balance the carbys so it runs perfect.

Dont think its a boost gauge, just took it for a 20min drive and its reading higher than usual

When I start it up its high then after a few mins it drops but today it stayed higher than usual

does it look like this:

cause as you can see they sit at 0 then when you are off boost the engine is making vacuum so it'll be in the negatives (or below zero as seen here). then when it goes above zero there is positive pressure (boooooost).

 

if not, maybe an oil pressure gauge?

Im thinking oil pressure gauge. ,  the druggo I bought the car off did a lot of dodgy sh*t and he said vacuum gauge

hahaha, well my oil pressure gauge has a stuffed sender but I was gona rewire the earth or something.

 

haha what other dodgy sh*t did he do? swap the odometercluster? ;)

Na engine with turbo mods and tuned it with Sct x4 rewired it himself windscreen front and rear have no seal around them lots of other small things when I bought it I knew the engine was stuffed but had no idea 4 holes through the block 2 each side 1 was big enough to fit tennis ball in
