I'm about to put in a trans temp gauge in my ba turbo ute and I'm wondering if anyone knows if there's a test port on the auto for the sensor? Or maybe if there's other places people go off? Tia

No mate the sump needs to be drilled and tapped to get a true reading

The Sensor can be placed in the outgoing line to the cooler but you would need a bulkhead made up to accept that config

which line is the outgoing oil line? top or bottom?
