Hi guys,

I have a stock Bf 2 ute and drove it home today and it was stuck in drive. The car has 94000kms and never caned. Zf oil change and new steel pan 5000 kms ago, it wont select reverse neutral etc. Now wont start as in drive!

HHHHelp!!!!!

As above, is your shifter suddenly a bit looser than normal?

The end of my shifter cable popped off under the car (on side of ZF gearbox). If that's the case you can zip tie it on again (for full details see my thread linked to above) in an emergency.

It's an easy place to check before you pull apart the shifter surround which can be daunting the first time you do it.

This happened at like 240,000km and I cane the sh!t out of my car regularly as well as stick it in N at the lights all the time. Just so you know, sequential (+ and -) does not move the cable, only moving between PRND. Hence the chunky thud feeling (if cable is connected to ZF!), except when in sequential sports mode.
