Show I'm chasing an upgrade in brakes for my G6ET.
Before all statements about Brembo's etc, I want to keep my 19" Lux rims.
Pic belowjy8uzema.jpg

I know I can go a PBR upgrade to 325mm x 32mm but seen an add on AFF from Racebrakes Sydney for DBA T3 4000 for Territory (fronts).

I noted that the rotors where 340mm.
Has anyone tried to fit these up?

I am not sure here, but I believe it wont clear. I haven't tried myself, however I will wait for you to try it.

:P

Why are you planning on going bigger brakes?

You seem to be in the same boat as me. I have the 19" luxuary rims and I dont want to lose them. I just cant justify another set of rims just so I can fit some callipers.

The only brake upgrade that will fit the fronts are the xyz brake upgrade at $2250.

I have brake shudder at higher speeds and the steering wheel kinda wobles. I have been told that bigger rotors and callipers is only recomended if you going to track the car and get brake fade.

Otherwise save your money. A lot of people including my tuner, are saying that braided lines, dba slotted rotars, decent brake fluid and good pads will resolve most of my brake issues.

This is my next plan and once I do that, I will let you know the outcome.

I still have that mandurah run/cruise planned at some stage or another.

I just got to get it organised when me best mate is not at the mines.

:)

Your brake issues sound same as mine.
I have been putting them through their paces of late and got quite scared at how poor they handled!
I would love to know if option work.
Even Matt from Race Brakes Sydney said the larger rotor would prove good stopping power over the 325mm PBR upgrade.
If it works, would be a cost effective upgrade.

Don't know what happened there with the edit.

But in short will try and find a 340mm Territory rotor and caliper and try a mock up.

You may already have the 325mm rotors - pretty sure the turbos come with them now ("performance brakes")

Mine were crap stock. Pad and rotor change and now perfect - am sure the pads made the biggest difference.

I was in the same boat as you, hating the brakes but wanting to keep my rims. Was so relieved when a simple change totally fixed the issue.

What 325mm rotors are you guys referring to?

Stock front rotors are 322mmx28mm. The 325mmx32mm rotors as fitted to B series cars are completely different to stock FG Turbo and run a different caliper too.

I could swear that on my 2011 fg xr6 turbo, I have 298mm rotors for the front.

Is there a way to tell what I have besides having to take the wheel off and measuring?

If you have 298mm rotors on your FG Turbo I'd be talking to Ford about it.

No idea how you can tell apart from measuring them, but you should definitely have 322mm rotors on the front.
