With all the recent headlines concerning the retards that frequent Kooragang island, we can all expect some extra attention from the Police around our area. For too long, people that call themselves car enthusiasts have been tarnishing our name, destroying any chance of a constructive two way relationship with parliament and law enforcement, destroyed any good we have through fundraising activities and worst of all hurt and killed other road users.I know all of us legitimate car enthusiasts from Newcastle and surrounding areas would like to have a venue close and handy to go and race instead of towing or driving two hours to the creek, and just maybe some of these monkey spankers in their sh*tters would actually come and do it legally too. Newcastle has the population, the culture and the great sense of community required to get something like this happening, so why hasn't it happened yet? So what can we do? Well there is some growing support for a new push, what is needed is public support. I propose that those from the Newcastle area, Manning, Port Macquarie and any where else that Newcastle wouldn't be too far to come on a Wednesday night for some organised, safe, legal drag racing from this forum chime in with your name, suburb and a short comment. We will present this to the NMEP who are our elected representatives in parliament to see if we can get this going. If you have mates on other forums, encourage them to do the same thing in the same format. If anyone has mates who are business owners with earthmoving/asphalting companies who might pledge support that would help with construction, get them to chime in too.
