Hi guys,

New to the forum.

My names Aaron im currently in the UK but have lived in Melbourne for the past 5 years or so.

Im after some advice on which model to look at buying.

I have decided between a XR6 or an F6 or a GT-P..

Im not a stranger to high powered cars so what ever I decide to buy wont stay standard, Out the above 3 which one would you recommend as a good base for 650+ WHP?

Id be changing brakes, suspension, etc resale value isnt really a big deal but if one does hold out alot better then the other it would be good to know etc..

Thanks for reading,

Aaron

  • There's a 540 kw gt for sale on carsales if you haven't already seen it 10second car aswell Or are you wanting to start from scratch ?

  • It sounds like regardless of the car you choose , you are going to raise the bar by two. If you he'll bend on building a weapon, I start with either a second hand low k turbo (xr6 or F6) or supercharg

If you can find a f6 with the 6pot brembos and 4pot rears that's a good start turbos easy to get power out of

The v8s you will end up spending a lot more $$ on to get the same result as the f6.

But It comes down to what you want really

What year would I be looking at for the 6pots and 4 pots all the ones I seem to find are auto and I hate auto! Haha

Yh im on the verge of 50% more power in one of my RS's and my soeera is 3 times the original power so I know how easy it fet power out of a good turbo engine.

I was just thinking the size of the V8 may eventully make it easier to get power etc

This is not necessarily true if your looking at the supercharged 8

Of your looking to go new model gtp then u can have the supercharged 5.0 and get power pretty easily

On our conservative dyno the gs ute r&d vehicle we've been tuning has over 400rwkw and that's on a baby tune with not big $ spent really

Totally different drive than a turbo though so depends on what u want

Depends how far you wanna go mate the 4 litre inline 6 is a power house for big numbers.. 1000hp + if that's where you wanna go haha

How much are you going to spend on a car??? Should have asked that first :P

Prob around the 60k mark mate.. Should get a nice manual for that.

Only downside to ozzie big cars are they weight of them!

^^^ yup yup and yup

Wel like princess fluff said with that budget you can get the gt 335 supercharged v8 and spend bugger all on it and have a good car

Now the question is do you like v8s or turbo 6s :P

U get a manual in the 335 supercharged and make it have 650 or more horse u wouldn't wanna have to drive it every day IMO

Also depends what u want it for... Straight line? Then go an auto..

Bends... Don't go that much power ...

If your just a dyno queen number chaser then do whatever the fhuk u like

I like my cars to be setup to do everything. Handle well, have power, be able to use that power etc

I cant stand auto so that's out the question already.

I have no issues driving a 600hp car daily I drove my soetra daily and I now drive my 560hp RS daily so another 50hp isnt really going to make much of a diffrnece if its tuned properly it will be fine for everyday use.
