Hey guys,

Just about to change my turbo, add a surge tank & get my tailshaft replaced with a heavy duty one & off to CMS for a retune.. My only concern is the stock clutch and how long it will hold up (being driven sensibly offcourse) anybody running around 400RWKW with a stock clutch?? Id prefer to do all my above mods and do the clutch in a few months (still new car so mightaswell get the most from the stock clutch before replacing it)

Will I be able to get a few months out of it before changing it?

Any input would be great

Thanks

Some say it will hold some say it won't.. Guy on here had 400rwks in a BF.. Held fine .......... For a while, try not to load it up in 5th or 6th.

Npc clutches do a 430 rwks clutch which forum member Fletty has and is holding up real well.. It's about $1500 fit that clutch.. Races at the track with it also no probs

+1 for replacing, but as mentioned above you can just baby . One thing to note if you are getting a tune and they get it up to that power or around that power where you clutch slips,it may not hold causing the tuner to have to back out of the run and might cost you twice to get the tune done. If you have the cash, get the clutch and do it all at once. Either way speak to Joe at CMS and get his thoughts .

^^^^^ I agree with this guy, its going to slip eventually if you got the coin I would be changing it now. if you live around the corner from tuner and it slips on dyno not too much of an issue, but if you live 500km away from tuner (like me) then its an issue...

I used a malwood 3+ in my old ute and it is still holding 350rwkw and is really nice to drive, others go for npc, exedy, torque clamp. Have a read through some of the clutch threads and go from there

Went with the Mal Wood Option 3 Plus kit.. spoke to EXEDY and they could NOT recommend any of there clutches to suit.. Even with the car as it is now with 317RWKW & 1014NM they still wouldnt recommend any of there clutches.. Kinda sucks coz im an EXEDY agent and could get the SMK7892SMFHD kit for $1050 inc tax and the Mal Wood is costing me $1700 inc tax. Have heard EXEDY clutch has a much heavier pedal feel creating problems for the master cylinder & an uncomfortable driving experience also..

Thanks for your input guys, will be sure to post up results in 2 weeks with remaining mods & tune done :)
