Hey guys. I've recently started doing a build on my BF2 XR6 Turbo and im looking at finishing my budget off with an E85 conversion.

Now, many people have told me different stories and suggestions.. The main one being that I need to use 2000cc injectors, 2x 044 fuel pumps and an external fuel pressure regulator..
Im presuming that I need to run a swirl pot/surge tank aswell. I already have a walbro 260l/h pump and 650cc injectors, but this was to run 98 octane.

My first question... is what is the difference between the two?

Second question, I've been looking at a swirl pot from Pac Performance (http://shop.pacperformance.com.au/pc-122-50-surge-tanks.aspx). Do you think that this will suffice? if not, why?

Third question, Is it worth buying and running a Plazmaman fuel rail with twin entry, and run two new fuel lines the whole way through the car? or keep the factory rail and merge the two pumps to a single line?

Fourth question, Will my current pump work well enough to supply the tank/pot with the fuel? or is there something else im missing?

Any other information on running this sorta setup would be highly appreciated.. Being a second year apprentice I have limited knowledge, but great learning... Trying to takes everyones opinion onboard at once is kinda painful, lol

First question

How much power do u want to make ?

Whats your end goal ?

You need to have some sort of power goal so we can advise properly.

650cc injectors will not be enough unless you want to run a mix which will stretch them to 400 rwkw.

My system consists of a walbro intank feeding a Plaz surge, from there an Aeromotive A1000 pumps to the standard rail and reg, and 80lb Dekkas.

Ideally I should be running 1000cc injectors but the Dekkas are doing fine for now.

Standard ford lines are fine, just make sure that any fuel lines added to your system are ethanol compliant.

I dont actually have a target power. I was just hoping to get as much as I can for the budget I had.

I did a bit of looking around after posting this and found that the Plazmaman surg tank was probably the best option. It comes with the tank, 2 pumps and a neat mounting bracket.

My question now is if the walbro 260l/h will be sufficient to fill the tank and whether I should run the single feed fuel rail, the twin feed rail or just keep the standard one?

Again u need a goal it gets messy if your just hoping for the best

Safest way is to heavely over shoot and go biggest and best but that will cost up to 3k

If your realistic and only want 400 easy

But if u go up to 450 it changes and sometimes by a big jump

At 300-350 its one set of products

At 350-380 another up grade

At 380. -450 another up grade

450 up wards u really need an idea

Stay away from swirl pots and any of the under car gear is perfict but check KPM's website or here in the sponsor section they have complete drop in surge options in stock location's

my current setup is 347.66rwkw.. im putting the plazmaman inlet plenum and forged pistons/rods.

Jim Mock motorsport advised me to do the fuel system when I started talking about high flow exhaust manifolds. im aiming for 400+ but I dont want to replace anything I dont have to later on

So your motor will now support more than your turbo can produce, which is why you need to think about how much power you want to end up with.

By the way whils the motor is in bits I advise you also add a billet oil pump.

A Plaz surge, 2 044s and a twin rail and reg is overkill for 400rwkw, but if later you decide that you want a bigger turbo then you have a a fuel setup that should see you over 500rwks.

If your budget doesn't allow for all this now just leave out the rail and reg which can be added later.

You also need to budget for tuning, cheaper to do it once but again depends on how far you can stretch the budget.

Looks like a bigger system as george has mentioned is more suited to your application

400 is a slippery slope when u have an engine that can take alot more

Because u will lol

Still have a look at the new KPM streetfighter gear it supports medium to big power and it will be very ball park $$$ wise on a twin pump undercar set up

tuning and block work is already budgeted. pump gears and valve springs are already bought. blueprint grinding the crank also.
im aware that after this build the turbo is the next step, but I cant afford that this time round.

I was told the pressure reg is a necessity cause the factory reg has an internal filter and the e85 would clean the existing fuel lines so well that the gunk would clog up said filter.
