If I'm in 3rd gear going up to 2k RPM it suddently drops to about 1400-1500rpm, But if I'm over 2K it pulls fine. Classic slippage? Not to familiar with the auto's

Rebuild cost depending on where you go is between $2500 and $4000 and involves machining and sledging the case as well as the valve body as this I was told by more than one place is the basis of the problem, it starves 3rd of oil and the band brakes and gouges the case. The other option is a 6 speed conversion though it about a $5000 deal.

Ford say they dont need it but they definately do, new pan/filter and fluid either genuine or aftermarket stuff GW, nulon, Transmax Z. chances are a service will stop it slipping for a while but once it starts slipping its definatly going to happen again... 1

Even after the ZF tune, under light throttle it feels like its got a bloody cvt sometimes - mainly 2-3 change. I've noticed it more since the x-force went on. The car has only just clocked 30k. It has never gone into limp mode at powercruise events etc. Nail it, it chirps 2nd (3rd sometimes) and every change from there is nice and firm. Maybe this is normal? Followed by the speedo.dropping out? I have this issue, I have been told faulty coils can cause issues by other members on here.
