Am I right in thinking that its better off replacing the 5x7" speakers with 6.5" speakers front and rear?

Many people do that, unsure of the exact reason/benefit of doing it but it's not uncommon!

I have read that it can give a better mid-bass..

Still not too sure what depth 6.5" speakers can be fitted in the front though atm..

apparently with no spacer 47mm will get by.

so a 6mm spacer should just allow...

There are mdf adapters so u can fit 6 inch drivers. Wich will help cost

Oval speakers are prone to cone flapping due to the oval shape. A round speaker has better cone control.
