May 26, 201214 yr #1 Hey guys just got a tune yesterday and I upped the boost to 18psi ... It absolutely bakes first second third not a drama at all but when I go to select 4th under full boost it makes a loud low pitch squeak sound and goes into 4th then pops back into 3rd and hits limiter ... This happens in manual mode and I got a feeling it's not normal anyone got any suggestions as to what's wrong ? Thanks in advance
May 27, 201214 yr #2 If this problem started after the tune, I would take it back to your tuner asap.
May 27, 201214 yr #3 Uh ohhh.... Could be stuffed converter.... Bf1s had single plate lock up clutch which was prone to failures like these
May 27, 201214 yr #4 Author Yeah mate I'm half temped too !! It used to do it when I was at 14psi but no where near as loud ... It was just a real feint beep and it always went into gear no worries :s
May 27, 201214 yr #5 Author Oh no don't tell me that haha it's fine with every other gear just third going into fourth .. How much are we talking to get it fixed lol can u recommend any good places in brissy ?
May 27, 201214 yr #6 Dont take that as gospel just saying it could be possible, hard to diagnose if your not actually with the car lol... I would get your tuner to datalog whats happening when the problem occurs have a look at what the lock up solenoid is doing and monitor clutch slip if he has that capability.... Ford do m1 automatics are curently in the process of becoming zf certified workshop so try them but my tuner normally sends them to WA to get rebuilt
May 27, 201214 yr #7 Author Yeah mate will do !!! Thanks for that ... It's all good when I drive it like a manual and lift the pedal when I change gear so I might putt round like that until I sort it out
May 27, 201214 yr #8 It used to do it when I was at 14psi but no where near as loud ... It was just a real feint beep and it always went into gear no worries :sDid you mention this to the tuner?
May 27, 201214 yr #9 Author Na mate completely forgot ... Think I'm just going to take it to ford and get them to fix it ... Don't want to break it any more than it is lol
May 27, 201214 yr #10 Good luck with that, doubt they'll be too interested in fixing it under warranty now that it's tuned.
