Any Point To Upgrading To Slotted Rear Brakes?

Featured Replies

as the title reads, is there any point to upgrading to slotted rear brakes?

My understanding is slotted rotors shed water better ???.

Drilling is meant to get rid of heat quicker

On a ute...nah, sedan ,,,, maybe

Certainly a slotted rotor is better due to the slot being able to wipe the face of the pad and also expel hot gases from between the pad and rotor. But I doubt you'd notice a difference in performance changing the rear rotors to slotted from plain. Most people probably have slotted rears due to looks and matching the front.

oh yeah thanks for the replies. I was planning to do them on the front but dont know if doing the rear is really worth another $180

the rears aren't even ventilated.. just solid disk.

drilled are known to crack with a good bollocking

that would mostly come down to the wrong pads being used and over working the disks.
