March 30, 201214 yr #2 Yep. Increased boost may blow the spark out, just like in a higher compression methanol engine. Your tuner should do it for you as part of the service.
March 30, 201214 yr #3 Yes and or no. As Rhino said you need a smaller gap for higher boost pressure. However it is more desirable to fit the correct plugs with the correct gap. Modern plugs aren't designed to be regapped and regapping then can leave you with a ground bar the isnt square to the electrode, which hurts the plugs performance.Didn't i read somewhere that FG F6's had .9mm gap factory?
March 30, 201214 yr #4 Author I am still running the same boost as standard. What gap have you guys changed too.
March 30, 201214 yr #5 0.48 if I recall correctly but that seems smaller than what a lot of people posted theirs as in a similar thread. IIRC most were 0.6 - 0.7. I wouldn't bother with standard boost, but your sig says 348 RWKW that would need about 16 pound give or take.
March 30, 201214 yr #6 Author thanks the car has already been tuned to 348rwkw and is only running 14psi
March 30, 201214 yr #7 Are you having problems with it misfiring or anything? What does the boost spike to if at all before it settles to 14?
April 6, 201214 yr #8 I would only regap the plugs if the engine starts to miss fire under WOT.You will lose economy and power the smaller the plug gap gets.
April 8, 201214 yr #9 Author Thanks Guys. No I haven't had any problems with misfire so I will just leave them until or if it does. My boost doesn't spike at all full boost is about 14.5psi
