Factory Alarm Battery

Does anyone know whats involved in changing the factory alarm battery in a BA?

AFAIK the Ba's never really had an alarm, just central locking and a panic button

Dynamco do an OEM upgrade alarm (P485) that utilises the factory remotes

I know its optional but it does have an alarm with a siren etc running off the factory remote fob. So where is the battery for it located is all I am asking.

theres the cars battery and then theres the battery in the remote......pretty obvious

I'm talking about the battery backup for the alarm, if you don't know then don't comment.

if theres a battery back up for the alarm it will be part of the actual siren...internally. if it not holding charge the whole unit is stuffed.

Yeah I'm thinking the battery inside the alarm system is possibly stuffed and draining my car battery, that's why I am asking. Thanks for the pointer, I will have a look inside the siren.

could try disconnecting the siren and see if it still drains it?

If you disconnect the battery backup siren without disarming it, it should go off, if it doesnt then it is not a battery backed up siren
