It's a Mal Wood Option 3, the car is stock and the clutch has been in for about 20,000km's. In traffic on quite a steep hill I had to do about 3 hillstarts in a row with the hand brake. On the fourth start to leave the hill the clutch slipped (in 1st obviously), pushed the clutch in, tried again and it slipped and stalled before I could catch it. Restarted and gave it another go and it grabbed with no issues and took off, although there was a smell of burnt clutch.Drove the car home without issue, took it out again last night and tried a few hillstarts and it didn't slip again although there was a very faint whirring type noise while releasing the clutch but that only happened once.I have spoken to the guys at Mal Wood's who were very helpful but without pulling it apart I guess it is kind of hard to pinpoint exactly what's wrong. I will be heading out there to get it sorted if it continues but before I do has anyone else had this issue or one similar? Up for a new clutch? Henz Tampon inserted, Auto Acquired, next purchase a new handbag Donating Members 9,946 Member For: 17y 1m 22d Gender: Male Location: Vic Posted 03/02/12 06:04 AM Share Posted 03/02/12 06:04 AM Drive it normally for a few days and see if it comes good again. After they slip they loose some ability, but at stock power probably not an issue yet.
