Gday , just thought I would run this one by you guys before I bother the dealer with it ..

On a dual lane highway that I travel every day my ute has done the same thing twice on exactly the same corner 2 months apart.

Travelling at 115 on smooth dry hotmix and on a left hand curve , the back end gives a big wobble and the traction control light flashes . Not sure which one happens first .But as both times it was exactly 7.45 am so im still half asleep and it scared the crap out of me the first time and wasnt much better the second..

any ideas??

Does it throw a Traction Control error and shutdown the Traction Control?

FG or BF?

I'd say the wheels spin a bit on whatever part of the road it is (might be slippery or bumpy and one of the wheels leaves the road?) and then the traction control comes on.

Usually only comes on once the wheels start spinning, then goes off straight away once it's corrected (stopped the wheels spinning)

the only reason the t/c light would come on would be when a speed difference between the front and rear wheels occurs. there for id be going with ciaran and saying the wheels slipping on something. was the road damp/wet? and after driving my ute around iv noticed the diff is realy tight. lsd diffs lock solid under load so any hard acceleration even at that speed while going round a cornor could cause some slippage if the road isnt grippy.

Cheers.Andy

Do a few skids, that'll learn it!

My trac does prettymuch nothing now :)

Seriously though... Expansion joints on the road can even confuse it sometimes, is there any

Doesn't traction control also counter if one of the rears starts to overspin? Could just be that 115km/h is too fast for that particular combination of curve, superelevation and road surface... Try the same corner but maybe 105km/h?

no dont turn the t/c of. that's not whats causing the problem, its just trying to corect it. if you have a fg it will have stability control which wont let you spin out if you lose traction in a big way. if its a ba/f (which I dont think have esp???) then turn it of if you like, but if its a fg the esp might be the only thing that's stoping you spinning out. tc senses if any wheel is traveling faster than the others and will apply brakes or limit engine power. check to make sure all youre tyres are the same size and all sitting at the same pressure, as that can confuse the system. but seriously esp could be the only thing between you and the tree, if you have it leave it on!!!!!
