Just had my crossover off for a bit to do some maintenance like turbo bolts, cleaning throttle body etc.. And putting it back together I bloody broke something. It's the crappy plastic nut on the small black hose that goes from the top of the engine into the front of the crossover. What does that hose do. I know I'll have to buy a new hose or whatever but I want to know if it's even possible to drive it or some way I can dodge it together until tomorrow.

Had barely done the crappy thing hand tight and the nut sheared right at the base of the thread

I have a breather hose on my engine where that fits on and it runs down behind the manifold to no-where. You would have to block the hole in the crossover.

So the breather hose isnt so important I cant drive it? I can patch up the hole hopefuly and get a new part for it tomorrow. I was hoping that since I noticed the hose itself is only just pushed into one of the fittings. didnt seem like it was under pressure or anything

Yeah this happened to me too. Just broke one day for no good reason and left the thread in the crossover so there is only a tiny hole where air can get in. I just left it there for now and it seems to stay there, mind u I dont drive it much these days. Went down to Ford and the part was about $20. It had to come from Melbourne and Im in Darwin so I chose not to get it that day.
