Hi all,

After locking my car and starting to walk away, I heard a grinding noise, went on for a second or so over the top of the usual "Click".

I went back to investigate. Rear left door makes the grinding sound, and doesn't lock/unlock.

If I pull the trim off, is it going to be easy for me to get to it and fix the issue, or is this something I should take to Fraud?

Cheers.

Sounds like this:

Hi guys,

For some reason the driver side door lock will not lock or open when using central locking. I can hear the motor working inside so not sure what the problem is. Lock works fine with the key.

If something needs replacing what would it be and roughly how much?

Cheers :)

Might try my luck with extended warranty for the actuator.

$85 from wreckers for the part.

Is it as simple as taking off door trim and replacing?

Also, does anyone know of a way I can lock the door? It's stuck unlocked. Anyone could walk up to my car, just hop in.

I'l lend you my dog Tom.......??

You need to take the door skin off, disconnect the actuator and manually lock the door. If you buy the new actuator and bring It's sat'd I'll throw it in for you.

Your dog is big, but unless his tongue is made of daggers and razorblades, I can't see him doing much damage.

I don't think I'll get time to buy one before Saturday but I'm going to have a look at manually locking it tonight.

Fraud quoted $200!!!
