Noisy Tyres

my fg turbo nearly brand new ony 4000km has 19 inch rims but has lots of road noise, has any one else find this? cant tell if its the tyres or the diff/bearings.. ford dealer says its the tyres beaurepairs says it may be bearings?? and dont even mention the price of the tyres!!!!

Depends on the noise you are hearing.. Diff is quite common problem in the FG though. What tyres are you running?

what speed are you hearing it at?

I get some slight road/tyre noise at freeway speeds, but mines a ute.

borrow another guys wheels, say 19s and or 18s and see if that makes a difference.

Had the same prob on 18" factory tyres. The outside of the tyres "feather" with age. If you run your hand on the outside of the tread in one direction it will feel smooth but if you do the same in the opposite direction the tread will feel raised or rough. Stick the fronts on the rear and visa versa and noise will stop.
