Hi Guys,

Noticed lately that im missing a heap of boost and the car is feeling way down on power.

Its missing about 6 psi of boost on the race tune in the middle of the revs, and it stops pulling at about 4500rpm.

I have tightened all the bolts on the dump pipe, and manifold, some were loose, but this hasn't made a difference (it does backfire/pop on deceleration less).

Could it be the Cat has had it, its an x-force one. Anything else to check?

Cheers,

Tobey

Hey Tobey,

Are you saying that the boost tapers off when you hit mid range revs? Do you have a boost gauge you can check? Does it taper or 'cut-out?'

As blueprint says, check all your pipes for cracks, splits and being loose. A boost leak will give you a few dramas, but I don't know if it will cause the car to stop pulling as such.

I know coil packs cause a break down of power in the top end, so could be them.

You also may be right on the money with the cat issue - But I'd think it would be worse that it is if the cat had gone though...

Best thing to do would be to talk to tunehouse about it mate. They'll diagnose and sort it out no worries mate :spoton:

The boost is maxing at 12psi in the midrange where it would normally be 17-18psi. It then tapers back to 10psi when it should still be at 14... The turbo spool noise is also a lot less, there is also no real hissing noise of leaking air.

Had the crossover off last night when I tightened all the studs, etc and nothing was loose or cracked.

Wondering if the actuator/solenoid could have seized?

Drop exhaust off before cat section & go for a drive. This will either fix your issue or rule out possibility of dead cat.

Also check each clamp/silicone joiner very closely. It only takes a tiny crack in a joiner or a slightly loose clamp to cause a rather large boost leak once under pressure.

Been over all of the joiners, may have to pull the headlight out and check the ones on the cooler, but they should have caused any issues.

Will pull cat out tonight and shine a torch through it, see if its blocked up...

Checked the cat, did the wd40 in the solenoid, had a listen for any leaks, not sure where to go with this now? Could the actuator be stuck open, is there any way to check this?
