Vcm V Sct

Ok so my car has been tuned with VCM Suite. After speaking to a couple of guys I have been advised that VCM is not as good to tune fords with as SCT, and SCT isnt as good for commodores as VCM. What are other peoples opinions? Tuners advise would be awesome.

I have both and prefer SCT for Fords and HP for GM.

Things may change in future though as things improve in both camps

Has SCT got more features that unlocks more things? Such as over boost features and torque tags?

Yes SCT has a better coverage on the Ford, it does not add extra features to the ECU, just allows better access to what is there.

Would the restrictions that the VCM has contribute to slower ET's and slightly lower MPH? It just seems that the car with the power it has should run a couple more MPH than what it does.

HP will only be slower if there is some torque management occuring that it can not control,

Its been on 2...The guys that tuned it and an independent one....Wont tell you the difference but its Substantial. My car makes 7KW shy of yours Steve, but runs 6MPH slower, so there must be something holding it back.

Manual? Launch technique might affect mph a bit but don't quote me here, it's beyond my ken how the many small variables affect mph and ET.

What was the ET incidentally?

Mine's an auto which reads a bit lower power wise vs manual. Not sure how much but I am guessing about 5%?

Launch really only effects ET, MPH is the indicator of power. Its ran 12.6, went 2.07 in the 60ft.
