Does anyone know how many days it takes from the start of production till the time the car is ready to be shipped to the dealer?

Well it aint all the simple to work that out.

Ford makes about 500 per day, so 8 hrs x 60 mins = 480mins per day

therefore roughly 1 min per Falcon

but

each XR6 Turbo has to go to FPV for the Intercooler fitting, and other options which could take 3 days.

Therefore each XR6 Tubo takes about 3 days to be born and a lifetime to enjoy

To put it simply from the time it starts on the production line until it goes wholesale (in ford yard before it gets delivered to the dealer) it takes upto a week. Then maybe upto a week before it get's delivered to the dealer (you'll be lucky if it's anything less) and then a few days for pre delivery. So basically about 2 weeks from nothing to a car ready to pickup.

I read that the car is on the production line for 4 days and it takes 2-3 days to get some stuff sorted (turbo piping etc) at FPV.

The actual build time is 34 hours at the Ford plant and about 1 hour at FPV accross the road. :hiwelcome:

Yeah but that's abit misleading.... There's paint drying times etc etc .... Ity make take 34 hours to buld a car but that probably translates to a week for an actual vehicle.
