OK - two points here ...

Firstly it is NOT illegal to have exhaust tips pointing down.

Secondly (sorry Sly) just because a car leaves the factory in a certain way DOES NOT DEEM IT TO COMPLY. It certainly can be defected. One very pertinent and recent case comes to mind - the BA daytime running lights that were fitted below the bumpers on Fairmonts.

YES, STIRICTLY SPEAKING AND BY THE LETTER OF THE LAW IT IS ILLEGAL TO DRIVE YOUR CAR WITH FOG LIGHTS ON IN CLEAR CONDITIONS, DAY OR NIGHT.

I was talking about the zaust, it can't be turned off.

No need to apologise I am not an authority on all things traffic, I have never profesed to be, I just give my opinion, if there is any conjecture I will look up the legislation, nothing more than anyone else can do.
