Hey guys, just wondering if anyones put an new air filter in their turbo, and if they have, whats the increase in performance like?

CJF077, read your signature just before and saw you've put a K&N in. How many more kW's and Nm's have you got? Have you had any problems (ECU, etc)?

If you've got em, some dyno read outs would be nice! ;)

(NB: Got my baby yesterday and have begun running her in!)

If anybody knows of a K&N filter that will fit the XR6Turbo I am interested!

The agent has told me that the filter for an XR6 Turbo will not be availabel for a few months, as the filterbox has to go to the States for them to make one. Apparently it is a newie, and previous models are not compatible! :( Comment anyone?

Well i have a K&N air filter in my car.. its a flat long one. Im not sure of the model number. Hi Tech Mufflers fitted it here in Sydney.

In regards to issues with the ECU i have had none at all even with the exhaust change. The car runs like a dream.

Chris,

l seen on another post that ypu thought your car was 40kw above standard l assume just from the exhuast and filter changes.

Have you had it on a dyno? 40kw is a decent increase for only a couple of grand! An XR8 wouldnt see you for dust.

K&N Model Number 33-2116

This is the one Hi Tech Mufflers fitted to my car..

Doing a search for it on the net it looks like it was designed for a commodore..

PANEL FILTER - VT-VX COMMODORE Equivalent to Ryco A1358 Refer to Application Guide to ensure correct filter selection.
