Hey Mate,

I have Nitto NT05's and so far so good. Dry grip is fantastic, felt like I lost 100rwkw when I put them on!! They are pretty good in the wet, which was a surprise considering that are semi's. They are a noisy tyre, however that is the compromise I am willing to take for the grip levels they provide. Done about 6000km's on them and they are wearing better than I expected.

I ran the Nitto Semis on one of my Skylines a fair few years ago and they were incredible - now that ive got the 6T I might look at getting some again - what price are they asking for 19s?

Cheers

they were $310 for the invo and I think $300 for the 555 they do seem good value for the coin they reckon also a very quiet tyre (invo) looks like they had them on their own car

*Beep* said his Nittos were sh*t down the 1/4...

Possibly his driving?

Its not just his driving...

Just that he had enough power to blow the bags all the way down the strip, and shred rubber on the dyno!

What are these like everyday use street driving.

Heard you have to keep scrubbing them?

Also do get good k's as well as xyz mentions.

I'm currently running Toyo proxy 4's and with 12 psi it's on the edge of traction in 3rd (t56)

Now when I had set boost at 17 psi it was insane with I stand opposite lock 1-3rd hardly moved.

Also running to4z, Taz manifold, Plazmaman plenum, 3.5 x-force etc with Pedders coil over extreme front and pedders sports lowered rear.

No clutch 3rd gear as boost comes on 90k it instant opposite lock, get off it straighten select 4th that's 17psi, so pretty useless with the proxy's at that psi.

Been wanting to go a semi slick but concerned on the everyday driving and if having to regularly scrape them.

dont get me wrong on the street these are a great tyre. Even in the wet they get a tick. I put 12psi (boost) through them gently and didnt break traction in the rain (was just testing the waters).

On the strip, unless you do a MASSIVE burnout which I chose not to do anything MASSIVE, they are useless for 60foot but kept traction all the way through. Im sure with practice and massive burnouts they are great on the track. Good for about 15,000km the nt05's are! I still got them on my car when I dont run the 17" MTs on stock xr6 rim....well only time that is, is when I HAVE to drive the car in the rain. As I wont be driving MTs on wet roads ever again.
