Yeah, I have been missing in action. I have been in melbourne for 2 weeks visiting my in laws and prior to that I had been flat out with the end of year with work and other stuff so I had not been online much.

My car was bashed on 19th December... I was at a set of traffic lights in the middle lane of three with a car on either side of me. When I took off, the numnut in the left lane thought he had to take the middle lane and he swiped my rear passenger side door, wheel arch and scratched my wheel. The poor bugger has no insurance so it will cost him a bomb but my insurance will look after it. In any case, I now have to go past two smash repairers to get quotes and then get my car fixed... not what you want on a 2 month old car!!

Otherwise the car is great... there was some squeaking from the drivers door which they fixed at the 3000km check up. I have just driven to Melbourne and back (from Sydney) with my wife and two kids and the car was great. I previously had a Territory which was a little better for long distance trips as there is more space inside with a better layout for drinks and storage etc. The boot in this car managed to swallow up everything bar the kitchen sink and the car just cruised through the miles effortlessly. The car drank 8.9l/100km. Not sure how this compares to other cars but my territorys best was 11l/100km. This was with the boot absolutely packed and the car also full so I guess there was probably 400kg's of people and luggage.

I must say, I am getting used to the power.... I think I will be looking for a tune etc in to not too distant future. I never thought I would, but its just so tempting!!!

No, I haven't taken the GT for a run yet but I am on holidays for a couple of weeks so I will go past the dealer and take it for a wrap and report on my experience as soon as I do.

Hello Harry, sorry to hear someone smashed your car, bloody Sydney drivers......I could't bear to think about something happening to mine.

I have 6000 km on mine, its getting stronger slowly. Air con works great, dont know why so many people are saying its crap, maybe those temp sensors in the mirrors are causing people grief. Did some towing recently, it was a breeze. I had the same load on 2 previous vehicles and they both struggled. The G6ET now loves it! Wow, talk about torque, what a machine! I am still thinking about getting a tune and some mods done but I reckon I will wait till the 3 years is up. If I did get 300 RWKW and something blew up not covered by warranty any more, my wife will not talk to me ever again, especially as we bought a NEW car for the warranty.......... Ow well, mabe just a Blue Power cold air intake. Might get 7 RWKW if I am lucky but I will get that awesome induction noise.

Thinking of getting my oil changed at 7500 km as I have given her a bit of a hard time. Ford recommend 15000 for 1st change

Sorry to put all my info in your thread but our cars are probabuly at the same point in their lives and mabe we can compare where we are at. I believe your thinking of MORE power as well. Yeah....I know the feeling also. To mod or not to mod. Dam that warranty.

yep same here, but am getting Ford extended warranty (an extra 3 years).

Would very much like to mod, but in reality I couldn`t justify the cost but mainly the warranty (potential) issues, I don`t currently use all the power the car has, or rather I don`t use the engine to its full potential in standard form.

Hi gents... the same things concern me regarding tuning the car (warranty/cost of repairs etc). I actually went past a tune shop and was quoted $2800 for a stage 1 tune. They are more expensive than most shops but from the feedback I have seen on this site, everybody loves their work. In any case, I will wait a while (at least a year) as 3 months is way too soon to take it in for mods.

I am going to get the gear to do the oil change myself at the 7500km interval. I think that 15,000km's is too long. I figure that if I do it myself, I can buy the best possible oil for the car so I will be researching this shortly.

Tony, don't apologise for putting this info in this thread... I dont feel like I own the thread and its good to share the info so we have a better understanding of our cars. I wouldn't bother if I was driving a Corolla but with this car, I like to knowing as much as I can.

My dealer agreed that it is a good idea to change the oil at 7500 or even a bit earlier. They charged me $100 total which I reckon is pretty good.

Some may think I am sick, but I LOVE my car, it ticks every box. It's currently at the smash repairers so I am excited to get it back looking new again. I have been driving my wifes Accord Euro and whilst it's a good car in it's own right, it does not compare to the Ford. I was just saying to my Mrs tonight that I can't wait for my car but now at least my car will feel fast again.
