hi,

im after some advice from our brisbane members, my brother lives in mitchelton and has just picked up a neat bf xr6T. Unfortunately he has minimal mechanical knowledge and less tools. Im interested if anyone knows a reliable mechanic for typical service type work around the mitchelton area? Im in sydney so I cant be much help to him on a regualr basis, but if anyone knows someone reliable that is genuine and not a rip off could you please post up some contact details? I suggested elite automotive, but someone closer for some basic work would be great

thanks in advance

mitch

Dunno but if you find one let me know :icon_ford:

Powertorque at Brendale would be closer than any of the previously mentioned tuning outfits, predominately look after holdens but do have an intimate knowledge of these things :innocent:

Apparently Mitchelton Service Centre next to Oxford Park railway station is OK, very old-school place that looks a bit like a wrecking yard from the street but are supposed to do a good job. They are always busy if that's a good sign. But yet to try them myself so can't give a personal recommendation.

rdp isnt what it used to be. with leerentveld gone, things are on the up and up. the boys there know the reputation he created. its not there fault. they werent running the show. time will tell I guess. I went a different direction after being f*cked around by steve. being just up the road is another deciding factor. havnt had any luck with anyone else, so why not.

Mitch - if he wants simple services done reliably, McLean Motors at Queens Road, Everton Hills is ok (ex racer Cameron McLean), and the guys at Everton Mechanical Repairs on Timms Road, Everton Hills are absolute Ford nuts - their model car collection has to be seen to be believed. We still take the family cars there and have been treated very well and never had an issue. Then you get up into the well known tuning and servicing specialists.... Power Torque is at Brendale (as Tab said), and RDP are a bit further on on the peninsula. Depends on what he's after....... good luck.
