Posted elsewhere but hoping to get a response by posting here!

I seem to recall there was some discussion about this a while ago but can't find an actual final answer/resolution:

Can a caller's name be displayed on the (premo) ICC? It is such a pain that only the number comes up - I've got a pretty good memory but I don't know 95% of the NUMBERS of people that ring me!

Is this possible at all or is it phone dependent? FWIW I have an N97

Cheers folks any help appreciated

I would like this, but it does not appear to be a feature of the Ford BT.

Thing that annoys me is that my wifes Parrot BT kit does, as it will upload the phonebook to the BT and allow you to dial numbers from the carkit.

The Ford BT will only use voicetags, it does not support the uploading of the phonebook.

Dammit! A glaring deficiency if you ask me, and one that I wouldn't have thought would be too hard to rectify.

Would also be great if you could use the ICC to scroll through address book and initiate calls - I bought my wife a Nokia CK15W kit for about $200 odd and it works perfectly.

I use different ringtones for different groups. they come through the stereo and it makes it easy to tell who is calling without knowing the number or seeing the phone.

I have different Midnight Oil songs for Family.

Frenzal Rhomb for the missus.

Gorrilaz for one group of friends.. etc..

it works awesome.

I have an iphone but I'm sure I used to do it with my old ass nokia too.

Not a bad idea actually... although there are some numbers I do know like missus, mum and dad, but beyond that I've got no clue

Hey folks a bit of an update - browsing the Ford website (wanting to check up my external dimensions actually) and found this link - seems my phone should be compatible!

Pardon the ignorance but what does BPM 3.0 mean? Is that referring to Bluetooth software version and thus do I need to get my dealer to fix this up for me?

Sounds like it, have heard mention of that elsewhere for people trying to get the iThings to work.

But where in the doc does it say Caller Name? Caller ID is just the number isn't it?

edit...you need to read the FAQ. Silly old geriatric G-Spec driver

What's the difference between BPM 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0?

These are different releases of the Ford Bluetooth® system. Different releases are created as a result of

technology upgrades to provide greater phone compatibility. Therefore phone compatibility depends on

the level of module installed in your vehicle. A table summarizing the release dates is shown below:

Release Effective Production Date

BPM 1.0 ('A' level) Pre 14/8/08

BPM 2.0 ('B' level) Between 14/8/08 and 28/9/09

BPM 3.0 ('C' level) Post 28/9/09

You're right - I just looked at Caller ID Displayable and assumed that meant the name. Silly me.

Must be the cataracts playing up...

LOL! good song that.. but no. I don't think she would be fond of that, esp. if I started singing it every time she called.

Where do you cats find all this info on the ford website.. to my eyes there are like four things on the ford website. No detailed info!
