Im looking at starting off with a generic tune from capa, or a custom tune from blacktrack. it also sounds very average as I just came from a v8 so looking for a better note and a lil power from the exhaust too. ive been looking into the best system and most people seem to think a 4" dump, 3.5" cat and 2.5" cat back does the job well. I have however found a full 3" mandrel exhaust system (dump, cat, muffler and res) by RAGE (NZ) on ebay for around 850 bucks plus postage. what do you think of this system? will it sound any good and will it give me a decent increase in power? keeping in mind I am only looking at the 300 fwkw mark give or take. it has a single chrome exhaust tip..opinions? Posted 13/07/10 03:17 AM Share Posted 13/07/10 03:17 AM Welcome to the club mate.I speak on behalf of the whole forum and say GENERIC tunes == bad. Get a custom tune. In NSW, we highly recommend Tunehouse or CV Performance. All have 10 sec B series cars and know their stuff. If your chasing 300~ just remove the middle muffler and put a 5" highflow cat. Should be sufficient enough and a legal level. should be more 'gruntier'. All you need is intercooler kit, fuel pump, valve springs and injectors. Bout $4500 will get you all these drive in/drive out and a nice figure of about 300-320rwkw. But you will need a new auto. The most expensive things on that list are the capa flash x3 and tune (1600$~) and the intercooler kit (1000$~)Call em up and yeah book yourself in. Im sure they will be more then helpful Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/69346-off-the-shelf-full-exhaust-system/#findComment-1024117 Share on other sites

I meant 300 at the fly, at uni so dont have the money to spend at the moment on new intercooler, fuel system etc. so you would just get a new cat and straightthrough on the exhaust over replacing the whole system?I was going to buy a used flash tuner and have it reset to my vin Edited 13/07/10 04:07 AM by barryblack Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/69346-off-the-shelf-full-exhaust-system/#findComment-1024129 Share on other sites

Forget the exhaust if all you want is 300fwkw get a xcal3 and get the car tuned that should more than be enough. These are universal figures and pretty much same anywhere you go.Id say get that, and throw some deka 60lb injectors for 330$ (+50-100$ for fitting) and you will see your 300kw. You wont have to upgrade either (bar the tune obviously) when you decide to put more mods on later unless you want 500+rwkw.With that power your auto should be safe, and your tune should be fine to thrash around. That'll flow over 300rwkw, and with a 5" cat its good for 350s. A Flash1 box is only good for the $200 refund off a flash 3. they are paper weights. Flash 2s are still suported but who knows how long for. And if you get a generic get someone thatcan identify pinging to take it for a drive. Dad has 440rwhp through a flashed 4sp auto. No converter, nothing. As for 300kw at the fly, you won't need much. Leave the cat in, remove the center muffler ($100 at exhaust shop max) and use a xcal 3. You won't need injectors either. That'd be almost 300 at the engine! XCal3 and cost of a quality tune is all you'd need!
