Get 19s in a staggered offset! Will look mint!

I am pretty sure advanti makes the same wheel with a staggered offset... or maybe speedy...

19X9.5 rear and 19x8.5 fronts...!

Probably a little to late for comments....but for the sake of completeness I found this review on the differences in rim/tyre combo's:

Steering shake was evident on some choppy surfaces though, a problem also experienced on variants fitted with optional 19 inch wheels and low profile tyres. It wasn't a problem on cars fitted with 17 or 18 inch wheels.

and...

Ride

All G Series variants have a firmer ride than the BF, but it's still compliant and comfortable, especially the G6 and G6E on 17 inch wheels. We'd suggest that the 19 inch wheel option might be a bit rugged for NSW country roads. In Victoria, where the FG was launched, they don't know how to do serious wheel busting potholes, so we'll leave final judgement on ride until we get some test cars to drive in local conditions.

I also note that Motor Magazine de-rates the ride quality of the G6ET when fitted with 19's.

I'm having the same dilema.....especially if I lower the suspension......it could get a bit "crashy" on the 19's.

I've been in a few VT Calais spec'd with the factory 19's with facory suspension and I thought the ride quality and tyre noise was second rate for such a car. My s15 200sx with Bilstein/Eibach coilover combo rode better.

I'm just unsure as to whether the G6E would suffer the same fate as the Calais. Might stick with the 18's for now and put the money towards an LSD.

vt's were never designed for 19's and their archaic suspension cant handle it like the fg can

mines fine with 20's and quite low (tucking tyre front and rear)... no where as good as it was standard, but far superior to any other lowered car on big rims ive ever had, with one exception.... my toyota soarer.... but I had airbags (aftermarket, was factory bagged but worn out)

+ 1 for the KU 31's

Grip is reasonably good in the dry, great in the wet. And they are fairly quite for a wide, low profile tire. Not sure what they are like when they have like 5,000 k's under them. But I would say as quite as the Goodyear's were, now when new. But not quite as much grip. Will let you know after Mnt cotton this weekend.

Also not sure what the wear will be like. I only got 10 thou out of the rears and twelve out of the fronts on my last set. But I am running some helpful alignment numbers.

Having to pay retail sucks and I am not going to pay what they want on the Goodyear's. Like $3,800. Not when I am getting so few K's out of them.

Kumho 254/35/19 93Y KU31 = $359.00 Fitted.

Kumho 275/30/19 96Y XL KU31SPT= $460.00 Fitted.

Scammed a cheap wheel alignment too @ $40.

So yeh almost $1700 with an alignment. I think that's a pretty good deal for what you get.

A compelling reason for me to stick to the 17's, 4 new KU31's were 700 fitted and balanced at KMart Tyre and auto. I wish my T wasn't a daily driver sometimes :)
