3.5" Dump Catback System And Ss Induction

Featured Replies

Hey guys I had some words to my ford dealer about doing a catback system because I don't want to void any warranties and apparently that's fine, so is an SS induction system and filter. So I went to Exhaust Innovations in capalaba because they have a really good rep and did my brothers twin system. I was quoted $1185 for a 3.5" dump pipe, mild steel with a stainless steel dump at the end and $570 for the SS induction and filter, all fitted. Apparently I will get about 20kw out of this total, does that sound like a good price and will I pull that kw from that? I know the system will be good coz it's custom made, apparently bolt ons don't come for the FG XR6T's yet. :icon_ford:

Im pretty sure X-Force make off the shelf kits for FGs now?

But if the 1185 is for a Full Turbo Back exhaust (Wasnt sure what u meant there) that's a great price.

And what makes you want the ss inductions box? there fairly pricey for what they are and the benifits they give.

It's not from the Turbo it's from the Cat Converter, if I go from the turbo it may cause issues with warranty. The way he explained it was, if I go from the turbo then it may cause conflicts with the ECU allowing more air flow and fuel etc, so I would need it flash tuned to stop those conflicts. Flash tuning is out of the question because of the warranty and as for the SS Induction apparently they are quite good, and there is just not much more I can do to it without voiding. Apparently it helps fuel consumption too, or is there a different brand I should look at? :icon_ford:

Your right, changing the cat will cause issues with limp mode, and the tune to remedy it will void warranty. that's still a decent price for a custom cat back fitted.

As for SS inductions, I was always under the impression that a F6 Intake and a decent filter were just as effective.

Yeah I thought that was a pretty good price too, ummm so you think an F6 Intake and maybe something like a K & N Air filter?

Ok cool man thanks for your help :nyaah:

If I get one of those blue power intakes, will I need to buy a seperate filter, or does that come with a filter?
