May 25, 201016 yr #1 Hey I have a Uni chip wired into my car ATM. couple of questions for the wise ones.. my tuner said to pull it out and go with a capa X3 flasher. What is involed in pulling the UNI chip out and will it break stuff if I do it myself lol? basically, should I just leave it to my tuner? I've got aps 440cc injectors will it go back to standard tune and run too rich? the more I think about it the scarier it gets!
May 25, 201016 yr #2 Whether or not you can do it depends on how hand you are with things electrical, if you doubt your skills, you may be better off not touching it as an incorrect join may cause ecu failure immediately or worse case a dry solder joint can play havoc with ecu operation and diagnosis at a later date.Your car may possibly start with stock tune and larger injectors, but if it does, it will be running very rich, the ecu and it's closed loop operation will try to rectify this, but will possibly not have enough scope to adjust it to not cause problems, you may foul your plugs, damage your cat convertor or even wash your bores.
May 25, 201016 yr #3 Author Yeah I thought that might be the case. was just going on the off chance it might be as simple as pulling a plug. lol. I am pretty handy with electrical being an AC mechanic, but I might just leave it to someone who is 100% thanks for discouraging me haha. probably a good idea
