well depends what you call big power, and I was referring to a 1-2 year life.

If I could have a 4sp that I could bang hard and pay 700$ each time for a build once every 2+ years, id be happy with that. Keep me away from a glide and keep the car daily driveable.

How long / KM's that btr box been in that monstor for? Not to mention a whole heap of dyno smashing

I don't want to get to far off the track but I have a jatco in my car which is a 3spd with an electric overdrive, its my daily driver been through 5 drags meets and 1 full powercruise and not a single problem, flick overdrive and it sits on 2000rpm doing 100kph.

What about a built ZF? how much power can they handle?

I was thinking of transfering all my performance parts into a BF auto. I will eventually be running 450 to 500 rwkw but for now I have 380 ish would the auto be reliable?

the ZF conversion is a big job and expensive, ive been quoted $10000+, I wouldn't use a ZF if your chasing reliability at 500 rwkw's, I dont think theres many with a ZF making 500+kw's, id be looking into a Re4ro3a if your cars a daily driver, its a three speed electronic transmission and has overdrive, ive had a quote for one of these from GZM Automotive $7700 drive in drive out.

Ive got a c series 3 speed box in mine, had to get a rebuild a couple of months back-wasnt happy, put in billet internals. The car isnt a daily anymore and hardly gets used or given a hard time!!!, so it beats me why it sh*t itself. Now I wish I built a 2 speed powerglide which recently been advised to. On the positive side I have enjoyed having the 3 speed and it is actually easy to drive even when it was a daily which at the start was alittle worried about.

Maybe in the future I can see a powerglide going in depending if I can persuade the boss(wife) again.....until then the 3 speed will do.

Is this auto compatable with our ECU? Can the shifts be changed and made firmer? Will it be acceptable to drive on the Highway?

If all of these facters can be met I would definately consider one of these.

Cheers Alf.

give als race glides a call. mine has broken a couple of times(only imput) but we believe its sorted now, its run 9.9 in a car over 1800kg, done 2 powercruises (top 5 powerskid) 32174921749897214892 transbrake launches and making between 500 and 600kw to the tyres for a long time now, some of the best after sales service I have had ever, would recomond him to anyone, I think you would be hard pressed finding a box that gets trated worse than mine,it has been so hot the return line from the cooler melted the shifter cable,

we have never replaced a clutch,

in the words of al "people go away from c4's and th400's cause they cant build them properly

I think you will back me up on his quality spiro??
