Just dont go to carwashs.. fullstop!

Maybe a not touch system but most of them recycle the water (by law).

So if someone before you has covered their car in amourall and the like, the filtration system cant remove that.. so it ends up on your car... hence streaks and the like.

o2sucka - meguires have a gel based application.. where you wipe gel onto the tire. You wait 1 hour and it doesnt spin off. Keeeps the tyre black and shiny :)

Anything that is spray on will need to be left on the tyre for some time before use..

Anyone got a recommendation for tyre shine.. I get the sh*ts with crap going all over the car. I usually wipe the tyre down after spraying it but then they loose some of the shine.

Pete

I've tried them all and found that bang for buck, Armourall Tyre shine is streets ahead. Reasonable price, good lasting. Just spray it on a soft cloth and apply it to the tyres. Don't spray it directly on! Pick it up in Coles or Woolies for 10 bucks oor so and lasts ages.

For tyres I use the meguiars high gloss stuff. aerosol spray is easy to use and has amazing shine. -its very thin so doesn't flick up so much.

**for best results make sure the tyre is very clean before application- rub all the old crap off as washing alone doesn't remove it.

For the car- shade, wash, chamois and quik wax after to remove any spots, drops or other stains. Its a spray and wipe type stuff from meguiars. easy as to use.

(my car is black so always has water drops on it!!!!!!)

Windows.... it's not the cleaning product its the way you do it. Fold a terry cloth or similar into half then half again to get a square. think one side wet, one side dry.

spray the window (not so much to have any drips) -don't soak it!! wipe with firm hand to remove any build up. then turn over and use dry side to buff to high shine. so easy!!! works everytime.

**newspaper is for reading not cleaning.

For tires I use meguires gel, lasts for ages and looks glossy for ages too- far longer than silicone spray.

For glass I use a meguires streak free product, spray a little, wipe with a microfiber cloth then buff with a meguires glass cloth- lint free magic fancy cloth!

Well the main problem is..

1 - Touch free car wash = Doesn't clean your car.

2 - With whatever it is that your using to dry the car after, your pushing the dirt around that hasn't been washed off, making the water on the car dirty + the cloth your using to dry the car. Dirty cloth + Dirty water = water spots.

For tyres, the only product to use is Auto Glym, nothing comes within a mile of it.

Wash mud covered tyres off (4x4), that are still filthy, spray with product and tyre is black and shiny for weeks, looks newer than new.

Costs a bomb, but is worth every penny.

All of there products are awesome, for the readily available off the shelf products, Auto Glym wins hands down.

For the windows, get a Meguiar's Glass Cloth, they are brilliant.

After you have dried it, amoral the plastic bits and put tyre shine on her shoes and go for a drive.

I used to use Aroral on interior and plastic parts (on a old commodore...meh), BUT I found that over years of use it actually turns black trim into grey and others have told me that it actually speeds up the process of the dash cracking/splitting particularly if the car is in the sun for long periods.. I will never use it again and have read on up on it and would not recommend it. There are much better/safer products to use.It aslo attracks/collects dust.
