cheers every1 for advice, called malwood today, looks like im gonna go that way full kit ready to install.. will do it myself.. never done one on a XR6 before.. so anything I should lookout for? or is pretty much straight forward swap with the kit, is there any pics or step by step guide to do it? just incase I miss something..

ah k run down on my car:

APS Phase 3 kit, billet rods, bilstein suspension, ceramic clutch, previously owned by Autotech Engineering.

picked up a second hand T56 (45,000kms) from the wreckers for $1800 with 3 months warranty.. now just awaiting short shifter, stick n tremec knob from malwood n gotta get a different cross member (I think), then in it goes.. :-)

you will need a new crossmember for sure.

you can use your t5 stick im pretty sure..

only thing to do other than that is wire up the reverse lockout to the brake pedal. you will also need an xr8 tailshaft yolk!

xr8 tailshaft yolk? huh u sure.. why cant I use the one I got with the gearbox.. reverse lockout? u do mean the reverse light switch right? have you done this before?

btw I called a ford wrecker today n got a quote for sh Xmember with mount for $400

I then thought I would ring ford n got a quote, for a brand new xmember with new mount for $130 lol

wtfs the story with that? lol that's the same wrecker who quoted me $3750 for a T56..

thanks XR06T no1 else told me about that before.. ok now I get it! reverse lockout solenoid.. does ne1 know how to wire it up 2 the brake pedal? or could I just run a wire up through to the inside of the car to a switch n power of some sort.. any pics of some detailed info will be greatly appreciated. cheers
