every now and again the brake light dully lights on the dash or flickers on and off when driving or braking.

I noticed today that one of the brakes makes a slight squeel sometimes when turning.

All the pads have plenty life left. Is this just a case of stripping and cleaning to put the light out.

Sounds like your brake fluid is low that's what the warning light is about. You may have a leak in the calliper that could be causing the squealing.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but did you find out what it was? Mine is doing exactly the same thing. The brake warning light dimly lights when the wipers come on.

Did anyone have a fix for this problem. driving home tonight mine is doing the same thing, bit worried in the sh*tty weather in perth on the freeway. Fluid is ok, so dont think I have a leak, will check tomorrow when she's dry.

The light is on all the time, but really dull, doubt you'd see it in the daytime. Then comes on 2-3 secs every 30 seconds to a minute but at appx half brightness. wipers are off and it is dimly lit.

Sorry for long winded type up but brakes worry me. Pretty sure they are fine, good pedal feel, fluid at max etc. Anyone know what the light comes on for? is it abs fault or just low fluid?:roflmbo:

Mr car got a service yesterday. The shop took the front brakes off to see what I need to get them replaced, then put them back together.

And now last night when I went for a drive, and same thing, brake light was very dimly lit. When you turn accessories, it briefly lights up at full strength, but while driving, comes on no where near as bright as fully lit.

So I'm putting it out there again, Anyone with any Ideas?

Sorry for te looooong delay but I have since took the main earth off and buffed the connection up and no more light when it rains.

Since then I changed the std pads to bendix ultimate with dba discs and and never seen it again.

Which is good considering the lovely scottish weather.
