Cheap and effective. If you want to get serious then some lite weight 18 inch racing rims and say some Toyo R888's. Lots of different brands of semi slicks in 18's available.Benny

I have eaten the sides out of my 30 profiles bouncing off the ripples. Not to mention gutter rash on all four rims.Not sure but I think the big boys use this size. Also 17 & 16" is the most common slick used so in turn the best price.

I'd look to reduce unsprung weight, makes a hell of a difference, not many people have done it because most just buy sh*tty wheels. WolfXR6T in NZ reports a huge difference with his Rays forged wheels, I noticed a big difference too with my Work wheels. There are a few options for tyres too..R888, RE55 and the like. Keep diameter to 18' or 17' if you have stock brakes.......bear in mind that with semis you stock brakes will cook extra fast. How much are you prepared to spend ?

I'm happy to spend a couple grand on good rims for the exact reason of reducing the unsprung weight, a How will the standard brakes handle it with a good set of performance brake pads?nd ill fork out for some good tyres later on. Can't see all the box I'm writting in. I just hope I don't make a mistake, lol.I use upgraded brake rotors and Ferodo pads which are a cheap but effective upgrade for moderate track days.Benny

Size wise something close to 18x8.5+30 and 18x9.5+38 would be ideal. I used to not be so big on staggered sizing, its good for power down but can lend itself to more front end push....but fark it, it looks tough, drive around it. In that size Work CR KAI are available off the shelf in OZ from JDMConcept. Otherwise, Rays Engineering have a bunch of wheels in suitable fitments. TE37 or RE30 being examples of these.

Then you can do semis + brake upgrade at a later date. Suspension wise, I'd just go Tein SS with the high spring rates, get an aggressive alignment and good to go. Front lower control arm bushings too.
