Posted 19/09/03 01:34 PM Share Posted 19/09/03 01:34 PM I finally made it to the legal off street drags at Calder Park, Victoria tonight. It was my first time competing and what a buzz.Best time was a 14.030 @ 99.41 mph. 60' @ 2.201.I had 6 runs and only had traction problems once. The car was great, I had a run against a GT-P and managed to beat him this was where I got 14.030 to his 14.775. He got bad wheel spin at the start and it was his worst run he was usually running in the 13.8's. The GT-P was a Herrod modified car and looked great. I was hoping to get sub 14's and over 100mph, so to miss by 4/100ths of a second and 0.59mph wasn't too bad.For those interested my "T" is Auto and I have a second cold air intake and a BMC panel filter, shell optimax petrol was used, I also had the center muffler removed today and have done it in such a way that I can bolt either the straight through pipes or center muffler in when needed. (I will post a full write up with pictures on the new pipes tomorrow morning, cost was $150.00)All up my mods have cost:$150.00 center muffler removal$170ish BMC panel filter$40ish Second cold air intake.Over all had a great night and recomend it, I took the wife and kids and we all had fun. The only run I lost traction was when I lined up a bit to the right of center. My best time was when I loaded the car up to 2000rpm and let go. I didnt do this all the time as sometimes there wasnt enough time. I will probably go again in 6-8 weeks time and with the experience of having done it before I hope to be able to get just under 14sec. This would need a perfect launch and everything going for me. Posted 20/09/03 02:40 AM Author Share Posted 20/09/03 02:40 AM I used SSS in performance mode for 5 runs and shifted myself for one run.The best time was in SSS mode and when I shifted myself I was worried that the delay from 2nd to 3rd might cause the engine to cutout at the redline so didnt use that method again. Posted 23/09/03 03:01 AM Author Share Posted 23/09/03 03:01 AM just wondering have you ever had your T dynoed if so what were the results? I had it dynoed at the Melbourne dyno day. Completely standard using Optimax petrol it achieved 200.9rwkw. The optimax seemed to make a bit of difference too. With the mods I have now and the difference in the way the car feels I think that on the same dyno in same conditions it would be around the 220rwkw mark. I hope to get back there at some stage and find out.
