Hey Fellas,

What are peoples recommendations on coolant, in the past I have used Toyota Red in my cars, just after feedback on any other brands

Also what is the capacity of our cooling system, is it 16L?

Cheers

South

Yeah I was going to do a flush and change coolant on weekend along with the oil change, but when I got to autobarn I realised I didnt know which coolant I should go for, so I left it.

I highly recommend Redline water wetter.

Unless you live somewhere that your water will freeze over night, you dont need 'coolant'.

'coolant' is manily glycol, which is only antifreeze, it'll do nothing to make your car cool.

Get yourself 2x 15L goonbags of distilled water from coventrys that'll cost $10-15. then get yourself a bottle of water better $30-40.

empty your cooling system, fill with distilled water. run the car with heater on high until the fans come on, then run for a bit longer (this meant he thermostat has opened, and you're now diluting the 'coolant' still in the engine block.

repeat once or twice.

then fill with distilled water, add your water wetter and you're good to go.

Water wetter has all the anti corrosion//rust inhibitor properties all the other 'coolants' have, it is just far more efficient in cooling.

If you DO live somewhere that your water is likely to freeze overnight(rare in oz), add some glycol to the water wetter.

If you're too scared to realise the benefits of changing from 'coolant' to water wetter, and absolutely have to use 'coolant' I recommend the valvoline G-05. DO NOT USE TECTALOY....

I kept with the tried and true, and filled it with Toyota Red.

I'm very surprised for how small the cooling system is in capacity. I swear the EF radiator was twice the size of the BA.

Good time to tighten the cooler pipes too, runs cooler and goes harder now. Excellent result!
